Khade wins gold, Sejwal takes silver

TIMES NEWS NETWORK In the same event, Jayaprakash Agnishwar finished fifth, with a personal best timing of 29.31sec. Agni has consistently been improving on his personal best timings in recent competitions, and looks to be extending his good form at these championships. Sandeep Sejwal, fresh from a prosperous stint at the FINA world championships in Rome, won the silver in the 50m breaststroke event with a time of 27.84 sec. The 20-year old is on a record-breaking spree, once again bettering his own national record in the event and certainly improving his rank in the FINA top 100 list. Sejwal narrowly missed out on the gold by 0.44 sec — finishing behind 26-year old Kazakh opponent, Polyakov Vladislav.

Bangalore based swimmers Virdhawal Khade and Sandeep Sejwal were off to a brilliant start to the 6th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships in Tokyo on Monday.
Teen sensation Virdhawal Khade qualified first in his heat and dominated the final to win the gold in the 100m butterfly event with a blistering time of 52.77sec. Khade created a new national record and clocked the second fastest timing in his age-group in this particular event this year. Khade swam considerably faster than his previous best time of 54.01sec and should find himself comfortably propelled into the FINA top 100 world rankings in this event.
