Hi All,
Today I just observed that google-maps shows the Aarunachal pradesh, uttranchal and J&K borders as disputed ones. This is totally wrong and offending. I have never heard of any border dispute in uttaranchal area. There is a clear and well defined border there.

Surprisingly, maps are shown differently to indians (http://maps.google.co.in).

So why this difference?? Rest of the world (http://maps.google.com) see the undefined borders where as indians see that borders are so well as they should be.

Some open questions over the matter are.
1. Isn't it illegal to present diffrent facts to different parts of world?
2. shouldn't the Indian government force google to change it? It may be debatable that is the gov. is weak enough to do somthing to resolve the border issues but this is too much if gov can't even force to stop private companies from doing such nonsense.

Ok why to wait for gov. Can we complain to google directly?

I completely agree with you Nitin.. itz nothing more then living in the dreams.

Borders don't mean anything. The fact of the matter is that Arunachal is an Indian administered area that is claimed by China.

The Tibetians living in Arunachal are grateful that they did not end up in China or they would have been trampled over by the ethnic Hans just like it happened in their Native Tibet. In India they have the opportunity to maintain their ethnic identity.

From my interactions with Chinese people I find them to be very decent. But their Government seems to be very vile and vicious. They use the Han Chinese as pawn to advance their Political agenda.

I don't know about that. This lady at work always sings the Chicom song.
Like any other group of people you can find them on either side of the issue and some will be on the fence.
