The story regarding the founding of the kingdom of Bikaner related above underlines the role of an ordinary Jat Neria in the effort. But history is witness to the utter neglect of ordinary farmers surrounding the city in all walks of life. Even in indepenant India the crass backwardness, especially in the field of education for the girl child continued to stimise the simple folk of rural areas. Affordable quality education has been a long felt need. The Surajmal Memorial Education Society, under the enlightened leadership of Shri Ram Niwas Mirdha, rose to the occasion and ecided a couple of yeas back to set up a senior secondary school in Bikaner. The effort came to fruition in early 2009. Maharani Kishori Devi Public School has started functioning in a state of the art four storey building of its own (with a cost of nearly four crores) has already started functioning w.e.fthe current session2009-10. Pans for construction of a hostel are under way.Girls from the rural areas will have better acces to education.

Many Jat initiaitives have been launched in the the past for education of the youth in rural and urban areas.

Thanks to these , education has been received and has uplifted many rural families.

The Surajmal Institute New Delhi has taken initiatives in this matter, and has recently started two girls schools.

There are plans to start one school in each district.

Perhaps Rana ji can add more.

Educational backwardness in Jat dominated rural areas in Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh is a matter of serious concern. Unfortunately, the thread started by Shri Raja ji, could elicit only one response so far (from Shri Ravi Chaudahry). It is social liability of the educated and well established community members to to work in this direction. I understand Surajmal Institute has taken some initiative in this direction. We all must contribute to this cause. Comments please.
