You can make an image in your computer there are various softwares available to do that like "virtual CD"
but to install windows on your system you can do it through a CD only
There are also other ways too but they are a bit complex to begin with
like making a bootable pen drive etc .....

There are differnt ways to image a computer.
1. Base image--You can Use Ghost, Acronis to image your computer. You can always use this image to restore your computer to the original state
2. Differntial Image--You can use this process by installing base image and then take a snap shot, once that is done, either install or remove more applications then create another snap shot. the difference between two snap shots is called a difference file. This file can be burned into base install image.
3. Backup Image---you can use some freeware software to create an ISO backup image that can be reinstalled.

Karan summarised it really well... Most of computer manufacturing companies/IT companies don't install OS and other softwares on machines. They just put image on the respective hard drive. It takes less than 5 minutes to setup your computer. In case of laptop/net books, you need special connectors to connect the hard drive to other machine to re-image the hard drive.

u can get image of whole hard disk or any partation by using various softwares.
can use SYMANTEC BSR 8.5(free for 60 days,enough time to play with it). Its simple ........................
1.just install software..
2.take backup as per ur choice..
3.place it anywhere(may be in DVD,may be in other partation,u can also put this image on another PC ,fromwhere is can be restored through LAN NETWORK also).
4.always use RESTORE CD(don't confuse ,there are 2 CDs 1 for software installation 2nd is called restore cd).
to restore this image (can be restore on different hardware pc also).

IF U WANT TO INSTALL THIS IMAGE TO MANY PC ,THEN BEFORE MAKING IMAGE , USE SYSPREP COMMAND TO MAKE UR OPERATING SYSTEM LOOK LIKE BRAND NEW OS WITHOUT ANY SETTINGS.
