I heard about Dr. Balyan from my maternal cousin who is working in ONGC (Hqrs) as an Engineer and has very good relations with him. He always speaks highly of him and finds him a man of high integrity and down to earth. It gives pleasure if someone from the community, which is just like an extended family, gets a lion's share in the bureaucratic hierarchy or corporate management. Good luck to Dr. Balyan.

We youngsters are already inspired and have eye on target. On the other hand, understand the need of time.
How a person can be an inspiration as no background info given about him. Just because he is JAT. Its a bouncer over head.
Getting inspiration is not bound to only community. It can be derive from any human being.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Balyan, an M. Tech from IIT-Delhi, PhD from Germany, has joined Petronet LNG Ltd., the Nation�s largest LNG importer as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining PLL, Dr. Balyan served as Director Incharge - HR, Business Development & Joint Ventures in ONGC Ltd. He has more than three and half decades of experience in the field of exploration, production operations, project management, business development and human resource functions in ONGC Ltd. He joined ONGC in 1976, where he served across India, handling key positions. He had been instrumental in catalyzing various HR interventions besides guiding business development initiatives in downstream, Petrochemical, Power and alternate energy sources and expanding the frontiers in synergy with inherent strength of the Company.

His additional responsibilities are as Director, In-charge Business Development and Joint Ventures, ONGC, ONGC, Director, Mangalore Refinery & Petro-chemicals Ltd. , Director, ONGC Videsh Limited, Director, Mangalore SEZ Ltd., Director, Dahej SEZ Ltd., Director, ONGC Tripura Power Company ,Director, OMPL Ltd.

In Exploration, he has 26 years of experience in exploration and field operations.Project Head for Dhanseri Valley Project,Jorhat, successfully steered exploration & production operations in remote strife prone areas of Nagaland (1994-96). As Basin Manager he headed Exploration operations in Kolkata Basin of ONGC , (1998-2002). Established coal bed methane exploration in the country. (1998-2002). In Human Resource Management , Dr.Balyan took over as Chief-Human Resource Development of ONGC in 2002. Appointed to the Board of Directors of ONGC as Director(HR) in 2003. Led Corporate Rejuvenation Campaign –the Change Management initiative. Pioneered a study to redefine the organization norms –focusing on Roster, Roles and Responsibilities to be benchmarked with global best practices. Initiated efforts for Cadre rationalization, dual career pathing- specialist and generalist career track, multi-skilling and career growth ,and assessment development centres. Institutionalized a proactive Corporate Citizenship Policy with focus on Health care, Education Entrepreneurship , Disaster Relief and Water Management. with these responcibilities Dr. Balyan is a good motivator for community youth and very helpful also. any one can meet him with a positive attitude and surely he will gain some knowledge and guidance. he is from Muzaffanagar distt. U.P. and he want that our community should grow very well. he did for community in terms of job and other benefits for those who meet him and told about the growth plan. we want some Jat personalities like Dr. Balyan for the welfare of community indeed!
