Ipod Touch Bluetooth

is there any way to use bluetooth of Ipod touch? after tuning ON no bluetooth device is able to find Ipod and vice versa. is there any compatibility issue b/w apple and others ? but even my Macbook is not able to find it . i googled it some say we can use it some say we can't :(
if any one know how to use it plz let me know
