Dear All,

I welcome and request all of you who love to read poetry and write to join me on my page
http://www.facebook.com/SkyOfEyes and like it. The support of jat community is much needed. And it would be great. I have authored two books and have been in to writing for 9-10 years now . I won Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award for one of my first book and Aszacra International Poetry Award for my second book. IT would be great to see you all there as well. Your encouragement is much needed.

Poetess,

Contrary to the blind following, I am interested in reading the particular literary work for which you were awarded. It would be nice if you can manage to share excerpts from both the books.

Thanks

Of course I would Sir. Here it goes:

The Shrinking Shadows

To modernize is not to westernize
But to globalize the perspective
Forgetting never the shadows
That nurtured your ethnicity. .

‘I’ was but a diarist in life
‘X’ was but a changed world
The well off having every luxury
Usually earned
Chose to change. . .
Jewelled with same ideology, they still modernized . . .

The grounded earners, having only the luxury of strength
To construct
Chose to earn . . .
The fluffy, mid-wing of ‘X’
Somewhat clouded with traditions
Following the advanced alfresco in thoughts
Chose to balance. .

The clueless, helpless, uncategorized
Flying dark, in a new expectant world sky
Often rained heavily, lightened on the
Cemented but westernized roofs of the rich

Land-bearers, constructors, labourers
Could comprehend not
The changed mien, the changed values
The growing modernity . . .

Liberal with equality in vision
The changed often walked out
Limited with narrowness in their conscious beliefs
They walked in. .

Pretence lies outside home. . .

Oppression of self through self
Is the gift of changing blindly
Modernization is accomplished
With rationality in thoughts. . .

Swarthy lords recognised not a need to change
Prosper they could not even with the written lord in their title
Uncategorised, bricked themselves strong
And grounded still the indigenous colour of their original cementing
Thus with the same care
Floors of dwellings for different sects. .
I’s will continue to dwell, till X’s change to originality. .

To transform blindly in ethos of any modern rising
Will be to follow
The shrinking Shadows. . .

Hi Rajneesh, thanks so much esp for the last line :) great enthusiasm and attitude you envisaging for me :) I will share one of my poems heer with you :

Everybody is Somebody

Consider this land as a reaching ray
Decipher that step as a progressive way
Knowing this life so sudden at times
Sitting is that someone all ready to move . .

Silencing the thoughts on the sand so still
He sat feeling that guilt of his diffident will
Regretting his heart is that fear of failure
Wondering how long shall be his progressive tenure
Managing to gather that strength to sustain his individuality
Getting up now is that someone all ready to move . .

Trying to follow that different light of his race
He has the eyes to analyse things at his pace
Awe-struck is his little heart
Wanting to acquire that sword to thwart
All the emotions that are keeping the success apart,
Falling in affection with love to grow beyond
Standing is that someone all ready to move. .

Deciding the things to be done he is all set
Forgetting those dead promises that kept his eyes wet
Breathing he is now only for his self
Breaking out of his image of a road-elf

Gradually destroying those wasted moments spent for every
Other somebody
With rude comments
Find he must now that old way of his newness
To sustain his life with the ideas of his freshness

Strong hearted is now
That soft bud
Of innocent touch in him . .

Desiring to blossom small yet beautiful
He has to embrace the thoughts of growth
Even on this road
Opportunities where lay in bountiful
Bearing all the emotional storms of this world
He has to manage not to wither away with the crowd

He has to flower on even unnoticed. .
Not untouched,
Though for his sweetness
Sharing the sweetness with all the coloured
Buggers of the world

Preserve he has to still even with pores
His own lively white colour of progressive calmness
He has to colour on, air on
Nodding on to the orders of his abilities. .

Spreading his petals all strong
And connected to the centre
Of his beliefs
He has to essence on. .

Stopping various cruel touches, stares
He has to ground on eternally. .

Preserving that energy of shalom in himself
He has to live on, smile on, grow on. .

Along with that mother tree of his shadow-line
That grows selflessly every-day
For everybody who’s somebody. . .

Beautiful lines.
However, I am wondering on the thought that the "oppression of self through self" is normally "the pain of changing blindly", except, if you had a masochist in mind... or, off-course, if you love the feeling...

Akansha,my best wishes are with u in your endeavour .I was never a poetic kind of person;so I cound'nt get much out of your poem mentioned here.

Also, I am not able to understand your signature line- If life spaces up,it moves on until it gives back---What does it mean ?.Also, write here some simple kind of poem;so that my kind of not so poetic person can also enjoy and understand something.
