His last scuffle with Mayawati was potentially very brutal

His last scuffle with Mayawati was potentially very brutal

He had led so many movements involving the issues related to farmers and

had faced the highest in power during his life time in various states and at

the central government level and had the knack to call spade a spade.

Would it not be good if you share the fuller details about the incident

referred in your post.

He also had the knack of taking his words back when confronted strongly

Take this Mayawati instance, then his scuffle in Lucknow when he changed stance after meeting the CM.

Many people in West UP might not agree with you on what you said.

Definitely a great leader and desi what he said was right on money but way he said was wrong.

Remember one thing in scuffle with mayawati. She wanted police to arrest him but it never happened.Mayawati deployed all the jats from UP police in sisoli , she was giving orders to depute constables/ACP/SP from jat community to arrest him so he didnt wanted his own people to fight among themselves and die so he surrendered in court.

It can be said for any leader in history. There is always a segment of society who has these views.

Unfortunately about him the segment is bigger, read the link I pasted, and read Kabirs statement. Kabir is from neighbouring village near Sisauli. I was in Sisauli the 2 days after this incident happened when Army had surrounded it, and trust me people were not as many as reported, and those who were were there for the sake of it. He used to be a big leader but lost his credibility in the belt.

Jo kabir ne kaha us thread mai vo Shriman Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi pe bhi equally applicable hai... lakin usko pooja jata hai M.S. Tikait ji ke khilaf bolne wale khud ve log hain jinke liye unhone kabhi aawaj uthai thi....

or reason sirf media mgmt hai... Congress managed well to Gandhi popular hua... Jats/Kisan Union didn't... to MST ji ki popularity kam hoti chli gai...

In the chain of great leaders of India in modern times,

who gave voice to the demand of inclusive development for rural India,

the name of Ch. Tikait ranks a very high place.

I agree, talking is easier than doing. Jats in particular and farmer castes in general suffered from lack of leadership.

maine dono ko compare kiya hai???? NAHI!!!!!!!!!!

maine bas ye kaha ki Kabir ki statement (jisko tu itna emphasize kar ke bol ruha hai) is equally true for your "Mahatama"... or ye likha tha Kabir ne "This guy has been notorious for this. Aandolan karta tha aur jab sarkar jhukne wali hoti thi to haath kheench leta tha."

@2nd line: aise suru karta hai tu personal attack... baat chal ruhi thi MS Tikait or Gandhi ki or tu "read you post" & "You have humor" type ke comment karne suru kar deta hai... waise mere humor ko samajne k liye jitna IQ (or EQ bhi) chahiye, utna tera nahi hai...

In addition to varied contribution of the great Jat leaders including Ch. M S Tikait,

rural political consciousness outweighs their minor aberrations or mistakes or

error of judgement dealing with the political or bureaucratic set up, if any, which

might have been caused due to any omission or commision.

So our respectful SALUTE TO THEIR MUCH CHERISHED MEMORY !

Like Subhash bhai said, he was brave and fearless but not a good leader. He did have a good following, and the picture could be of his early days but that doesnt mean it was the same for life. He always struggled for a political standing, if he was such a great leader why did he fail to convert this following into votes?

Perhaps, this was his greatest strength that he was not a politician and avoided mixing up the farmers demands with politics or vote. He raised the issues on merit affecting the farming community and they irrespective of their individual affiliation to divergent political parties joined him in large numbers resulting in huge public meetings.
