Hi everyone,
We felt like there was a need for a new moderator. So we have asked Dr. Rajpal Singh to serve and he has graciously accepted. He is a senior and respected member of this site and has been actively participating in the forums. He is also located in India and can be around when most of our members are and take quick action upon member requests. Please give him your full support while he learns the details of this job.

Friends,
I feel humble by the overwhelming best wishes of the friends !
I am one of you and wish that if everyone of us were to follow the fair game rules while engaged in the discussion there is no need of any moderator.
At the outset, I beg to solicit your cooperation to improve further the already set good standards of the debates/discussions on all the threads/forums. With your unstinted continued cooperation we can take the Jatland.com discussions to still higher levels/standaards, this is my firm belief. No moderator can do this but for the willing cooperation of the participants, this is clear to me and I have no hesitation to share it with my fellow Jatlanders !
We are doing good but to take the Jatland.com to the position of one of the best sites of its own kind, a few points may be kept in mind before posting our views on the threads, some of them may be like------
We must remember that rights and duties are the two sides of the same coin i.e. if we have a right to hold our one view on any issue, the other person is also free to hold his own.
We must respect this rule and go on discussing the issue not the person. The comments must be restricted to views posted not cover the person who posted them.
We must try to abide by the limits of our rights and adhere to duties too as enshrined in Indian Constitution. If we perform our duty honestly and let others do the same then rights would automatically follow.
While discussion issues, the rich cultural heritage of India must be paid due reverence as there is unity in diversity and diversity in unity in India.
The emotive issues like faith, religion, region, language etc. must be discussed with all due caution without hurting the unity, integrity and secular fabric of the nation !
Kindly stick to the theme/subject of the concerned thread while posting views.
That is it.
More suggestive points for pondering from the participants are welcome.
Wish you all the best of posts and discussions !
Best regards and thanks.

An appeal and humble Request:
It has been brought to notice that some members knowingly or unknowingly indulge in not only mud slinging on the acclaimed leaders of India but also use filthy words with their names. This type of indulgence in mud slinging does not behove us. We are from a civilised society and we must remain civilised in words and deeds.
It also violates the norms and standards of the debates and discussions of the site too; therefore, it is humbly requested to all that they must use self restraint while writing on the great personalities of the yore and desist from creating bad blood among the members themselves. Kindly remember use of indecent adjectives and abusive language in posts not only lowers the level of discussion but also leads to degradation of the estimation of the user himself.
Since many posts of our senior members have been reported, it is humbly requested and appealed with folded hands to use your discretion to understand if the continuance of these type of cheap writings beneficial to the society to which we belong or it is lowering our honour in the eyes of the world as intolerant and disrespectful to our predecessors.
Hope that in future all of us would first think before posting our comments and try to avoid to be among the reported initiators of hatred campaign on the site!
Thanks and regards.

Rajpal Ji, there is no iota of doubt that you have a sincere desire to improve the standard of Jatland - the only Jat-centric website to reckon with - and this initiative of yours deserves appreciation. But, I have my own apprehensions that given the traditionally lenient attitude of the worthy administrator(s) towards rowdyism, your sincere efforts may not yield the desired results. Many people in the past also tried to stem the rot, but failed utterly. Though unsubstantiated, there was a gossip that some of them were unceremoniously removed from the moderator-ship under pressure from a certain section of 'hardcore bullies'. No offence, it is my guess that the Administrator(s) do not seem to have the gumption to contain certain elements even if there is a sincere desire to do so. It may be their assumption that the site will come to a halt if the said elements, who have plenty of time for gossip, are not allowed to carry on their antics here. The rowdy behaviour and bullying attitude (खागड़पणा) must have been dealt with an iron fist long back. But, better late than never and efforts must continue. Of course, due opportunity should be given to the first time offenders passing innocuous comments (or small time bullies), but the hardcore खागड़पणा should not be tolerated at any cost and a suitable message must go across that anyone - irrespective of his stature (and contribution) on this site, will not be spared if the prestige of entire Jat community gets besmirched because of his/her deeds. People have gone to any extend to hurl abuses on their fellow beings, with impunity. In utter disregard to the web-site’s rules and the established norms of decency, people have been given the freedom to use derogatory language without any fear and remorse. Some 'good Samaritans' have gone to the extent of even spitting on others which is quite unhygienic. Enough is enough and it is high time the administrators and moderators must talk tough if they want to restore the 'lost glory' of this web-site. In my assessment, a 'life-long and irrevocable ban' can be slapped on anyone who dares to flout the moderator's whip more than three times. Let us collectively raise the level of this site and make it one of the most attractive centres of learning and information.

Many members have been here for a pretty long time and might have forgotten the Forum Rules of the site. This impression is gathered when one goes through the contents of the posts on various forums. You would appreciate that mud slinging on one another and use of abusive language on such a widely acclaimed Jat Site is creating a bad impact about the Jat community itself. Therefore, without adding anything more I am reproducing the rules to which every member has subscribed at the time of joining the site:
Jatland Forums RulesAlthough the administrators and moderators of Jatland Forums will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this site, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of Jatland Forums, nor vBulletin Solutions, Inc. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message.
By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
The owners of Jatland Forums reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any content item for any reason.

Hope that volunteer constructive cooperation of all the members would be pouring in to further improve the contents and image of the site.

All the participants in discussions during the last few days have been showing positive attitude towards following the Jatland policy of further improve the level of debates for which all of them deserve thanks.
It is requested that without using abusive language or unwarranted adjectives before the names of the persons whose views are being taken up for discussion, arguments if based on solid foundation would be good to convey ones message across in better way.
Our motto should be : Post comments on posted views and spare the person who posts them. This would automatically keep the discussions bound to the topic of the thread and also solve many a knotty problems and topsy turvy turns in the course of smooth movement of the discussion.
Everyone would appreciate self introspection and self restraint would yield good results and fruitful discussions.
Thanks and hoping for constructive continued cooperation in maintaining the dignity of the Jatland Forums.

After going through posts during the last couple of days, it is discernible that participants have started to use a bit more moderated language in their arguments and have also shown maturity by mutually agreeing to disagree and respect one another's point of view. Self discipline and mutual cooperation in deleting the objectionable matter on their own is also on record.
We heartily congratulate all of you for this positive attitude and wish that constructive cooperation from all participants to take the community portland to still greater heights will definitely fructify sooner than later.
Kindly keep up fellow feelings alive when discussing posts.

Friends,
All of you deserve thanks for further improving the quality of posts on various forums and sub-forums.
However, it would be still better if some of those friends who use abusive words with the persons or parties being discussed, resist this tendency.
Use of solid arguments and polite words would definitely be more impressive to convey your ideas,
Hope your continued cooperative efforts in future also would result in creation of better picture of the site and the community in the eyes of the visitors to Jatland.com.
Thanks.
