It is a big problem for the students of Ancient Indian History to find uniform system of fixing
chronology of the events in same order which may be acceptable to all the scholars. This problem
arose due to prevalence of a number of Eras through the historic times. Yudhishtra Era,
Saka Era, Gupta Era, Samvat Era, Harsa Era, Hijari Era, Dayananda Era, and so on.
The purpose of this thread is to collect information about all these eras at one place so that
research scholars and general readers could find them helpful in better understanding of the
past of the nation.
Members are request to share their knowledge on various facets of the Eras like when and by whom did they
start, their nature whether they were solar or lunaar eras, what is their relation with other eras and so on.
Thanks and regards
