12 October (http://www.jatland.com/home/12_October) is the death anniversary of Chaudhary Gulla Ram (http://www.jatland.com/home/Chaudhary_Gulla_Ram)

and pay our respectful tribute to him on this day.

He was a crusader for the uplift of the Jats in the social hierarchy in the

contemporary Jodhpur native state. He successfully attempted to open

educational institutions in the area and also founded Marwar Kisan Sabha

to spearhead the movement for freeing the farmers from the clutches of their

exploiters and also to carry forward social reforms.
