If it changes it's path by slight margins over these years, it can crash into earth releasing many many tonnes of energy. Scientists say, its passage is one of the most dangerous event that earth has seen in near future. Here is more on the news:

On 26 August 2032, there's a chance that a 410-metre-wide minor planet could hit us. Discovered by astronomers at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in southern Ukraine, asteroid TV135 will likely only come as close as 1.7 million km away from Earth, but there's a minuscule chance that if its course is impacted on in the next 20 years, it could make contact with the Earth, unleashing 2,500 megatons of TNT. That's 50 times more than the most powerful nuclear bomb ever detonated. Right now this is the most serious known celestial threat to our planet in the near future.

I won't worry for two reasons;

1. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/19/asteroid-earth-2032-planet-nasa_n_4124148.html
2. By 2032 I will be old enough to say good bye ...LOL

Jokes apart, chances of this asteroid hitting Earth are very low. Rest we will see in 2032, if still around.

Yes indeed. Let us not worry, UN is already active on this issue.

Hopefully we should have some sort of international defense mechanism against such big asteroids.

Great :)

The link says, it takes at least 5 years of advance action to deflect an asteroid. That's quite a bit of planning required. But then nature works as per laws known to us and so nothing comes as a last minute surprise i.e., no tricks by nature.
