DrRajpalSingh

The new Government of India led by Narender Modi as Prime Minister is going to assume the charge on 26th May, 2014. The country has high hopes from the new government to take effective steps to curb the corruption, high inflation, price rise, unemployment and so on.

The opportunity for the government is provided in the form of massive mandate it has received to run the affairs of the country for the next five years.

Your views, suggestions, aspirations, hopes from the new dispensation and caution to the government necessary for the new government are welcome.

Perhaps these points could help in setting the agenda for the next five years, and prove to the policy makers useful sign posts.

It has rightly been said by a wise man: The greatest of evils and worst of the crimes is poverty.

Among the several challenges, it seems, the greatest is how to overcome ever increasing ratio of poor in a country which is home of many multi billionaires counted among the richest people of the world.

Among the first few point to be included in the agenda of the new government to be addressed in the time bound manner must be poverty alleviation.

संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने एक कमेटी बनाई हुई है - Committee for Reduction of Poverty. हर साल 17 October को एक खास दिन भी मना रहे हैं - International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

गरीबी की परिभाषा देता था - "Poverty is nothing but a state of mind"!

अगर गरीब होना "greatest of evils and worst of the crimes" होता तो नरेन्द्र मोदी जैसा गरीब आदमी आज भारत का प्रधानमंत्री न बनता।

Yes, he is George Bernard Shaw, who has written it in a satire style. He takes the people to task who pose to be benefactors of the have nots and in fact exploit their hapless position and create such conditions as do not allow them to rise to the position of equality or level playing condition.

Here he emphasises the need of ushering in an era of egalitarian social set up where the poverty is not treated as an 'evil' or 'crime.'

The main emphasis of the electioneering was 'Achchhe din anne wale Hain' i.e. good days are knocking at your doors.

Let us see whether this slogan is translated into action by the Garib Ka Beta [Narender Modi] to mitigate the hardships faced by the common man or ends in the same way as ended 1970 mid term Lok Sabha election time slogan coined by Mrs. Indira Gandhi : 'Garibi Hatao'

National Security [Development a fool-proof system to curb nefarious attempts both from internal and external enemies ] must be given due attention to make India strong and keep the country's tempo on march forward to progress and development in multi-dimensional aspects.

To ensure maximum participation of the States in governance of the country and also in a bid to improve centre-state relations, Narender Modi, the PM designate has taken an intelligent step to invite all the Chief Ministers of Indian states to attend his swearing in ceremony as PM on 26th May, 2014.

DrRajpalSingh
May 22nd, 2014, 06:40 PM
The invitation to SAARC heads of the States/Governments to join the oath taking ceremony of Narender Modi as PM of India is a master stroke in the annals of history of the region. It is hoped that this occasion will be utilised to foster cohesiveness and cooperation among these nations in various fields.

This attempt would have long impact and bearing on the foreign policy of the new government.

In addition to all inclusive development and elevation of poverty, controlling the spur in Prices and providing employment to people must take centre stage in financial management and economic planning of the new government.

Revival of Agricultural production and making provision for timely purchase of the farm production needs immediate attention of the policy makers. Unbiased distribution of water resources, provision for providing fertilisers, pesticides, insecticides, electricity and quality seeds at affordable prices could usher in Second Green Revolution in India. This would lead to percolation of benefits to trade, industry and commerce too.

To meet the acute shortage of houses especially in urban cities and towns needs a systematic planning and development scheme with single window time bound service.

Even after about seven decades of Indian independence shortage of hygienic drinking water in several villages in the country needs priority attention of the new government.

As regards foreign policy challenges are concerned the new government seems rightly to have selected to concentrate their efforts first on the need of improving relations with the neighbouring countries. In this regard, inviting the SAARC heads of Governments to the swearing in ceremony of the PM is the first step.

''PRIME MINISTER-designate Narendra Modi’s swearing in on May 26 will have heads of SAARC countries as honoured guests. This will strike the right chord for his government’s reaching out to our neighbours. It will record an invaluable first in the evolution of South Asian regionalism. Responses from invitees are most forthcoming, including from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Bangladesh Speaker will stand in for Prime Minister Hasina.''

SAARC agenda needs the big push
India’s role in South Asia has to be humble and constructive and caring — elitist vanity or self-congratulation alienates people and should have no place in regional diplomacy.

A bold move, but will it pay dividends?
Even before Narendra Modi assumes office tomorrow evening, the Prime Minister-designate has shown he is capable of bold and novel moves, which have caught the imagination of the region if not the world. By extending an invitation to leaders of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations, including Pakistan, to attend his swearing-in ceremony, Modi has sent several important messages.

This the beginning of the challenges that majority got and government formed, not the end.

Real challenge the new government would face is how to fulfil the aspirations, hopes of the people which were raised to sky high through the promises made by the leaders during the electioneering !

After settling in the Government, it is hoped that some concrete steps would be taken to ease the situation on prices of essential commodities and controlling unemployment before it is too late !!!

Totally agree.

At least required 6-7 years.

Logo ke maan ma ki bas acche din ane wale hai. Per Asia Kuch Hoga nahi ek dam.

muje lagta hai modi ji ki sarkar ke samne sabse jayda challenge hai. Aaj tak asi govt nhi bani.

or govt should improve these things.

1. Living standard
2.Cleaning of living areas, govt should take step to make India beautiful
3. Law and order
4. Education standard, reduce the cost of eduction

Oh dear ...very good dear. but did you think who gave these challenges to Modi govt in legacy? congress only - right?

so give some time to the new govt to act. negativity will not help. I am saying this as citizen of india and not modi smarthak.

Do you know when did Supreme Court asked Govt of India to make SIT on black money? Jul 2011.... Yes 3 years ago. And what did Congress govt do? They filed a review petition against SC order to avoid SIT formation. on 04th May 2014 supreme court again gave a warning and only 3 weeks time to form SIT and you wud be surprised to know that jate jate 16 May 2014 ( day when results were out) cong govt again filed one more review petition to avoid SIT formation.

And what did modi govt do? They formed SIT in their very first meeting on first day or the govt. And you still doubt their capabilities and intentions. come out of cong love bro and stop cursing the new govt just for sake of it.

btw, many things you have listed in "to do" list come under state govt purview also. Can you ask about these challenges from Hooda OR Akhilesh Yadav?

I was saying same thing. Development is long process, or kya sab log isko samjh payege isko. I have patience and I know these patience.

24X7 Electricity ke liye bhi time lagega. Development ke liye.

Ye govt hai Do or Die wali.

I was saying food and house hold things ke price reduce karna kis bhi govt. ke possible nahi hai. wo bhi 25%. Per ispe rok laga sakte.

Hai per. Education cost bahut jayda hai aaj time. Usko liye dekho kya karti hai govt.

The Prime Minister has issued ten points for guidance of the new council of ministers to chalk out policy to meet the challenges of governance before them.

He has asked his ministers to prepare 100-day schedule listing priorities.

He has also expressed his wish that the transparency would be maintained in working of his government.

To achieve all inclusiveness in the functioning of the government he said all the Chief Ministers will be involved as partners.
