Over the last few years, there is much talk on how to make women empowerment, a reality. Many political parties believe that by giving them more willing representation in the functioning of the democratic institutions right from village Panchyats to the Parliament can be the best possible alternative while others advocate reservation quota for them to attain the same goal.

Yes, the participation of women in all the male dominated bastions in the past has increased and they have not failed to justify the faith reposed in them.

But, at times some of the politicians show scant respect to the fair gender while opening their mouth. Read yourself what one of them has said by logging :

In the other context this has come to light that another political leader has shot off a statement showing his insensitivity towards rights of women. Link for source of the report:

http://www.rediff.com/news/slide-show/slide-show-1-one-neta-threatens-rape-another-against-short-dresses-boo-them/20140701.htm

If these media reports are true, then what we are up to.

Given the media spotlight and ongoing national debate on women’s safety in the country, one would expect our political leaders to be more sensitive on the issue. Their insensitivity on the issue is a real cause of concern,

TMC MP Tapas Pal says he said 'raid', not 'rape'; demands to sack him grow (http://news.rediff.com/commentary/2014/jul/01/tmc-mp-tapas-pal-says-he-said-raid-not-rape-demands-to-sack-him-grow/3715d7d0a02ed5008bac5aff9c52198d): A huge controversy has been sparked by Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal's comment that party workers would be sent to rape women from the Opposition.

Addressing a rally in West Bengal in May, Tapas Pal said he would not spare anyone who tried to challenge him. His speech has sparked massive outrage across party lines. With demands for his resignation growing louder, the TMC was forced to act. The party has asked Pal to give an explanation for his remarks within 48 hours. The party has already said it doesn't endorse his comments.

However, speaking to CNN IBN, Tapas Pal said he never used the word rape. He claims to have said 'raid' instead. "I never said rape. I said raid. I said they should raid all the people and places, including women and old," Pal said claiming that the Opposition was trying to defame him.

Shame on this kind of person. I personally feel that if any girl do unsocial activity that's against of law. But No body have right/dare to touch her.

Friend,

Before rushing to post thread, kindly read carefully the contents of the source. The link provided by you mentions nowhere the CM of Goa. Rather he is PWD Minister, Sudeen Dhavalikar. Also See the full contents from the link given by you:

Therefore, the thread is being merged with the thread on politicians' utterances on women and women issues.

Pressed to wall, the MP, once again, contradicts his above mentioned stand.

Now he tenders unconditional apology.

TMC MP Tapas says sorry for rape remark

Kolkata, July 1
Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal today tendered an unconditional apology for his threat to kill CPM workers and having their women raped after he was asked by an embarrassed party leadership to do so following widespread outrage.
Pal, also a Bengali film actor, said in making such comments he had let down his constituents and the people of Bengal. “Some remarks made by me in the heat and dust of the election campaign have caused dismay and consternation. I apologise unreservedly for them,” Pal said in a written apology to the Trinamool Congress and the media.
“I have no excuses to offer. It was a gross error of judgement and deeply insensitive. It should not have happened. And I assure you it will not happen again. Once more, a humble apology,” he said.
“Whatever the provocation — and there was an attempt at provocation - those comments should never have been made,” the letter said.
Pal was shown in a video footage on a vernacular TV news channel yesterday, saying, “If any CPM man is present here listen to me. If you ever touch any Trinamool Congress worker or their families at Choumaha, you have to pay for this. Don’t try to act smart with me. I am smarter than you...”
“... Earlier, you guys have bullied me on various occasions. If you insult the mothers and daughters of Trinamool workers. Then I won’t spare you. I will let loose my boys in your homes and they will commit rape. I will teach each of you a lesson,” the MP had warned. — PTI

It's mean just woman are responsible for it. UP ke gaao main rape hue. Un ladkiyo ne bikini dali hui ya or Pub se drink karke aayi thi.

The new link now quoted by you carries another instance of a political leader, now the Chief Minister of Goa, about careless utterance on sensitivity of women issues.
