Etymology (origin) and meaning of Haryanvi words.

I recall from my childhood that few words always fascinated me. Such as "Jagar Singh" (जागर) as it always sounded like GAJAR Singh (गाजर / carrot) to me, which amused me.

I assume, but am not sure, that Jagar is corrupted from UJAGAR (उजाग्र/awakened/enlightened). Please let me know if you know the real meaning and story behind it.

I have curiously come across also a lot of non-Indian/vedic/hindu Jat names among Hindu Jats. Even considering our earlier Messagates/gutes and later hun sub-branches, etc of Synthians/sakas, Greeks and Macedonians were not related to Jats and I yet have seen Greeks-Macedonians names among Hindu Jats like SIKANDAR (Alexander) who had actually fought with Poras Jats.

Ikbal singh is another curious case, which to me sounds like Persian-origin (though some Persian tribes are distant cousins through admixture of messgates, sakas, medes, huna(kushanas) with parthians and local persian populace etc). Any clues about the meaning and origin of IKBAL?

Any other cases you may know? Thanks.
