Brief history[edit (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bismil&action=edit&section=1)]
In order to settle the influx of migrants from Konya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konya) in 1936, a new district (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District) of Diyarbakir was established. It was named Bismil after a freedom fighter and poet of India (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India). Ram Prasad Bismil (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_Prasad_Bismil), by the first President of Turkey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/President_of_Turkey), Kemal Ataturk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kemal_Ataturk). Ram Prasad Bismil had written an article in the Hindi magazine Prabha about him under the title Vijayee Kemal Pasha[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bismil#cite_note-3) (en. Victorious Kemal Pasha) and later on an appraisal in his autobiography (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autobiography)[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bismil#cite_note-4)[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bismil#cite_note-5) The province Diyarbakir (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diyarbakir), where this district is situated, means in English (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_language) the rebellion's region (Hindi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindi):vidrohion ka kshetra, Urdu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urdu):bagion ka diyar). It is a South-Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey and is located on the east of the Diyarbakir province. The area of this district is 1748 km2. Geographically it is situated 550 meters above the sea level.

This is how freedom fighters are supposed to be treated ... Atta turk respected Bismil in far better way then Indians :)
