Dear Nitin Dahiya

You may have not any idea about how much goodwill
and respect you have earned by creating this Website for jat
community. This website is providing a platform to thousand
of Jats across the world. Now we can share our concern,
challenges and opportunities regarding our community.
Although this website is serving its basic purpose but still
a lot Is desired regarding its content and presentation.
There are some suggestions, which I want to share with you:

1. The present colors used in the website offer dullness.
Use colors like orange or saffron.

2. This website does not have any multimedia (excepting Haryanvi music)
like images of forts and palaces of our jat rulers. surf sikhnet.com.

3. This website should have a section where comments from
famous Jats about this site and message for our community
should have.

4. It should have linked to various educational and informative website like
iit’s iim’s ,infozee etc.

5. There should be a guest jat personality like film star , politician or any other
prominent person whom members of this site can have live chat.

6. The chat section is very coarse and it should have more features
like yahoo chat!

7. The logo of the website appears prominently when we open this
website. Sometime it become embarrassing to open this website
in front of our friends from other communities. they may think us castiest.
it will only alienates us from society.

8. To make this website economically viable it should offer literature, CD’s,
music cassettes mementos (like images of our leaders etc),for sale.

9. Make the list of donors public so that more members are encouraged to
donate money to this site.

8. I suggest a new name to this site jatnet.org.

You may be a very busy executive and may not have any time to
ponder About These suggestions but then please forward to some
other active member/administrators.

I am a MCA F/Yr student of a Govt Engg collge in U.P .and at this
time preparing For my final exam. I will feel much honored if you give
me some responsibility after my exams.
Once again thanks for creating such a nice website, and making jats
proud by your deeds. You are a role model for a lot of jat students.
I wish you all the best.

Regards

I agree with point #7. But then why should we
hide something that we believe in. By going to Jatland, we are not doing anything unconstitutional. What if some time later, the same people who make you uncomfortable now tell you that you should not speak your language in public or not to follow Jat culture? Really, we need to ignore people who try to control peoples thoughts and life style as long as we are not physically hurting others. This is my opinion.

Being a jat if you go to jatland what is wrong in that. If you are from India definatley you will be more interested in Indian news paper, so it is just like this that.

sudheer bhai

thanks for your comments and inputs..

the biggest problem is one of resources (time). i possibly can;t do most of the changes myself, and not too many people come forward to own any aspect of the change. so things get stuck...

why don't we submit alternate site designs, and then we can pick the best one ?

infact the sight has NO multimedia as of now. the site scheme is also very simple as one of the key requirements is quick loading time. but with better connectivity this *may* be relaxed a little.. anyway, we can have a diff design which is more attractive yet not too slow.

Hi Nitin,

I would have loved to work on the site, but the problem is that I have never done cgi stuff.

Gimme some hints, I will c if i can do something duting my winter break. I would love to contribute if possible.

I am pretty much comfortable with the site design though, its sobre, what if it is dull.

Can we in sime way put search in the member's database. That way people can search by location, occupation, etc which will be the most used i think.

Nitin,
May be we can take out links to SEARCH and TODAY'S POST from the login screen, to be more specific from this URL
http://www.jatland.com/cgi-bin/ub/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Login
As right now anybody can enter the site and have access to posts and virtually all users profiles. I think it should be pretty easy to close these two holes. If you need help, I can spare some time for this work.

another suggestion may be you can post the TO DO list kind of things and I am sure many people will be more than willing to contribute to this. (I think Sudheer Bhai have already made a comprehensive LIST)
