Laxman Ji,
nameste
It looks Subhachand Ji is busy, I am writing my views.
Australia is three times of India in area, but population is equal to population of Haryana State. Here two major cities are Sydney and Melbourne. All migrants try to settle in one of these cities. Out of 46 Australian members, 25 are from Sydney, which makes sense.
Also we have about 90 Jat families in Sydney and skill level is very high, may be we can easily will have 150 to 200 members on JatLand soon. Also Jats in Sydney have started meeting quite frequently.

Thank you Lamba ji for useful information. I have read in some article about contribution of Sanskrit to the world languages that in ancient times Australia was testing ground for deadly weapons hence it was called astralaya from which it derives the name Australia.. can you find any such record?

Laxman Ji,

Nice stats..

Delhi tops the list! But Active Member/Member ratio is very poor at 6.98% (13/186)

On the lighter note ! 'What abt the count of Hyper Active Members'

Thanks,in this thread at s.no.7 I have given position of members as on 4/3/2003 plus added during 4-24/3/2003. The number of active members is same as on s.no.1.which is much less. The no. of active members should increase. That will make the site more interesting and attractive.

Oops! I misinterpreted the information.
So now Active Member/Member ratio in Delhi is (9/(186+13)) 4.52%

I agree with you that the no. of active members should increase.

Rajasthan has changed a lot. Now we can not relish the CAMEL BARAT. It has become a thing of past.Camel has been replaced by tractor in most of the Rajasthan.Camel race is now restricted to festivals organised for foreiners. The life in villages has been drastically changed. It appears we are moving away and away from our traditions fast.

Dear Burdak ji,

You made a great point, some thing which I felt very closely recently. I am your neighbour by origin, as I am from Jhunjhanu. I felt the same way when I went to my village few months ago. Things have become modern in villages. Chula has been replaced by gas stove, which is good in some respect but I guess you would also agree old tradition had some thing in it which is just fabulous.

On the other hand, modernization is lagging in the rural area of Rajasthan compared to other states. But still lot of people from neighbouring states consider it to be a good place to settle, which is an exciting fact.
Vikram

Membership crossed 1200, congratulations for all the jatland members, we are becoming a bigger family. I request, we should be more friendly and polite in writting in our communication, even if we do not agree with views of others.
Of course we should not expect same views from all, which is expected also, but we all must respect all views.
We are adults hence we should not write like school kids. Please let us respect each other.
It is very unfortunate more we are educated or we have better command over english language, we become less civilized.
Lastly even if some body has not used good language in reference to u, please do not copy the other person. There are many reasons, the person may not be in good mood at the writting and may realize later on. It happens with me many times even at this age.

You are right- no more camel races now, One has to go PUSHKAR- JASALMAER to see camel race now. Raj changed a lot. I took cycle ride during rainy season to bordering villages- Barada- Dalanwas- Jatpur-Kuhadwas- Jharoda-
Chidava-Khetri-Singhana to see copper mines.
People saw the cycle first time in these villages.Whole villagers came out to greet me, have a look and ride. what a fun- that was 1964. we have no camel in our village now- so i took my son to my mother village JATPUR in Jhunjhunu dist for camel ride.
have a fun.
we must respect our language & culture

Vikramji,Deswalji,Lambaji,Dharmpalji, Namaskar !
Rajasthan is changing as rightly pointed by Vikramji. Before 1990 there was no road and no transport service in my own village. But I found that majority of the villages in Churu district have been connected by roads. There is good transport system.Traditional chulhas have been replaced by gas or stoves.Night camp fires in households during winters are no more. Hukkas are seen only in limited houses.Traditional mattha(chhachh) is replaced by tea.The state Govt is planning to reintroduce the traditional culture. I am of strong opinion that we should not forget our traditions in the name development. The development should be for the the better living and harmoney of the society.
Lambaji, You have pointed out things which are highly needed on this site.Discipline has to be maintained and views of others are to be honoured.Membership has crossed 1200. It means the site is becoming popular.
Dharmpalji, we used to see Camel race in each village during childhood. Now we see camel race in Desert festival and on 26January the BSF show of Camel army.

You are right. Rajstan is changing fast for good- but we must keep our good values and culture.I am also watching progress from childhood. last year i visited Bhadra- Nohar- Hanuman garh & sanghariya Gramuthan vidaya peeth.I found that Rajstan is far ahead in Education- particularly jat girls in rural area near Pilani- Sikar & SANGARIYA AREA.
Jats are doing good progress in agriculture- jobs- Army- Education & politics.
They are more united- more brotherhood.
But they need more water & electricity.
The Evils of dowry & Daru is coming up like rest of India.
There is still Camel corps in Army- GANGA JASALMAER RISALA IS FAMOUS.
Cheers

Dharmpalji RAMRAM
Your observations regarding jat girls education in Rajasthan, Agricultural improvement and jobs in army are absolutely right.
Before independence status of most of jats was that of land cultivators. They had no ownership rights over the land which they were cultivating. The ownership right was with the Rajput Jamidar. With the starting of land reforms, Land Tenancy Act was enected which transferred the ownership rights to the cultivators . The cultivators who were mainly jats thus got land in their ownership. With the hard work and input of green revolution jats bacame rich. One Jat leader who made contribution in the process needs mention,he was Ch Kumbha Ram Arya. He took no. of decisions in favour of jats. His name is a legend in the field of jat empowerment.
Woman education in Rajasthan earlier was at lowest in the country and that to amongst jats was only nominal.During eighties jat girls came out of fields and joined schools. The results are clearly visible now as you see most of school teachers are jat girls. In the field of health also large no. of jat girls have joined as doctors and nurses. Infact educated woman makes the entire family educated.
Contribution of Rajasthan jats in the field of army is eall known. In Shekhawati i.e.Sikar ,Churu and Jhunjhunu, area every house has atleast one army personnel. It was clear during the Kargil war, large no. of jats became saheed.
In the field of politics also jats are a power in Rajasthan. Jats united on the issue of jat reservation made both the state govt and the central govt. to heed their demand. So the jats united are a great power. Jats can unite on some common issue, struggle for it and win.But Jats can not retain power for long.It is a tragedy.

Yagyavirji,
The Jatland membership had gone down to 1152 on 6/6/03 but it has today at this moment again risen to 1200.
Congratulations !!!
Members need to be more interactive. The adninistrator can send e-mail to make them wake up. Really many of the members have not sent a single post. They have registered on the jatland indicates they are inerested in it.
Why the members are not sending any post ?
Can any body highlight reasons ???

Dharmpalji, Namaskar !
It appears you know more about Rajastha than me.Swami Keswanand ji was from village Mangluna which is very near to my village. I read autobiography of Swamiji. It was really very inspiring. He has given a true picture of villages at those times.
Ram Singh ji Kaswan is M.P. from my own district Churu.Lal Chand ji Dudi was minister in BJP Govt.
Regarding Kargill Saheeds, it will be a nice idea to bring them on internet. I have seen one web site of Rajput Samaj which has given names of Rajput Saheeds on Website.Though Govt has taken good steps to allot petrol pumps in their memory. we should also do some thing for them.
