A SERIOUS REQUEST TO YOU ALL.

I was born in Village Mandauthi. When I was one year old, I went to Mumbai (Then Bombay) and I did my schooling from various places in India.

Only during summer vacations I used to go to my village.

Till date I have learned so many things about our culture but did not get the satisfactory solutions to one question which is:

HOW THE GOTRA "DALAL" ORIGINATED?

Request you all to please put some light on it.

I asked my Dadaji Same Question about 10-15 years back.
Here is his answer
There were four brothers
Dulle, Mann, Suhag, Deshwal
Dalal Gott came from the name Dulle.
That is why there is Bhaichara among these four Gots no matromonial takes place among these gots.

May be next time when you are in Mandouthi next time, ask few old guys, they might give you some info.

Holi pe ya kisi khas din, poora gaon do bhagon mein bant ja se aur aapas mein khoob int pathar phenke se ek doosre ke uppar.

Bhai logo latest info about Dalal got.
I was reading a book by Shashi Prabha Gupta "Demographic differentials among The Rajputs and The Jats". Where she has detailed data from 12 villeges in Sonepat
In this she has mentioned the Gotra DULAL instead of DALAL. So more likely it is from word Dulle... Does it support this theory ?

Ranvir wali baat maine be sunhe hai par ye 4 brothers kiske bete (son) the. I heard from more old people that these came from Raja Toder Mal family.

May be some historians can put some light?

Ashok bhai sahi baat hai. ek zhod (pond) ke dono taraf log ikhte ho jaan sai aur ek dusre par dale barsawen sai, holi pe. kuch ek ke sar bhe phoot jan sai. kisi jamane main ek baba ne shaap (curse) diya tha ak tam bhai apas main lado ge holi alle din kyonki us din baba te bhiksa na de ka gaam allan ne dale maare the. (this is what my dadi ji tells me)

It has nothing to do with dalal and rathee gotras.

This is intersting, I never knew this.
Similar kind of event every year happens in a small town near Milan in Italy. I have seen this myself, when people gather on that day in downtown and divide in two groups and through Oranges on each other (Govt/Municiple arranges about a train load of orenges for this purpose). Now JATS are more daring than Italians, so they uses roks instead.

gaam me santre kit milya karan. aaj kaal india main santra kilo ke bhaa te bika karan and not in terms of dozons. however jats are dare devils. santre maro chai dale donoyon na phootna hai.

Ranvir, can we request Dudee Ji about origin of Dalal gotra.
