About 8 genetically engineered cows have been produced in NewZealand which have multiple genes responsible for making milk protein in cows. These 8 cows have shown upto 20% increase in milk protein which is good news for dairy industry because cheese is predominantly milk protein.

I got this information from New York times dated 27th January 2003 under section "Science". The newspaper also reported that

this research study will be published in Journal of Biotechnology one of these coming months.
