People spend most of their lives pursuing one thing or other. Starting from small and simple things the pursuit grows to bigger and harder to achieve things. Remember when the exams are approaching one gets anxious and feels very happy on the last day.But that happiness is slowly replaced by new anxiety that of finding a good job and countless other things. They say there is nothing to fear but the fear itself. Yet it is so hard for most people to overcome this fear of known or unknown things. It is true that we find what we seek. Because among all our pursuits we are in fact seeking control in our lives which initself is a self defeating purpose. It is nice to have every thing going the way we want it. But why do we want certain things to happen our way only. It is our ignorance about the nature of World and intricate relationship between cause and effect. It is our own insecurity and inadequacy which makes us seek security in life. It is like looking for a blanket when we feel cold. One solution is ofcourse take a blanket and snuggle in it to escape the cold. But sometimes it is even better if we move in to warm Sun thus we have escaped the torture of thermal discomfort without the blanket. Similarly idealism teaches us how we can move in the Sun of positive thoughts and escape the tyranny of our fears and insecurities. When one reaches that it takes very little to achieve containment in life. Contended person is a happy person. Our culture and idealism teach us what we ought to do under given circumstances and what we should not try when we are in the tight corner. Some time or other we all come across difficult situations or tests of life. The difference between a strong and weak person is that the strong one will not give in easily but the weak one will. Jats through their struggle with life have been strong people and learnt to face harshest of tests of life including scorching Sun or freezing cold. These are great character builders and essential for personal growth. No wonder one can be contended by just escaping the punishment of nature. One daily test for happiness can be to ask yourself two questions. One is the sun going to rise to-day and the second one am I breathing if answers to both the questions are positive there is every reason to be happy. If answer to first question is negative then we can wait for the next day and if the answer of second question is negative you really don't care.
