The well known Jat rulers of Bharatpur are from Jadu Kul; the kul of Lord Krishna. The same is true for the rulers of Mahaban and Bayana. The Jadu Vanshis from the death of lord Krishna as per the Brahmans have been ruling in Bayana-Mathura region.
The story as per the myth goes like: The Jadu Vanshis moved to Dwarka with Lord Krishna where they all died fighting each other ( Sri Mad Bhagawat Puran). Usha wife of Anurudh, the son of Pradhumun and the grandson of Lord Krishna at that time was at her parents home and was pregnant. She gave birth to a son named Brajnav, who founded his kingdom at Santipur (now Bayana). Since then the Jadu Vanshis have been ruling in Mathura- Bayana region. From Bayana only the other Jadu Vanshi rulers spread all over India taking the worship of lord Krishna with them. That is why lord Krishna is worshiped most in India.
As per Brahman Jagas (geneology keepers) The Jaindra Pal (also referred as Jai Pal or Jaitra Pal) the 241st ruler in line from lord Krishna of Jadu kul ruled over Bayana-Mathura- Mahaban region in the beginning of 11th century.
The word Jadu is also referred as Yadu but the correct pronunciation of the word is Jadu not Yadu. The records of Jagas are written in Pingal Language in which there is the scope of such mistakes. The word Jadu became Yadu and later on Jadav/ Jadon or Yadav. The Ahirs(Mulayam Singh Yadav) are not Yadavs. Their writing of this surnames is an incorrect practice. They in fact are Nand Vanshi Ahirs. The Nand Baba, in whose house lord Kishna spent his childhood, was the friend of Vasudeva a Jadu Vanshi and the father of Lord Krishna. Nand Baba was a Ahir. All ahirs have originated from Mathura and have spread to Bihar and UP. People writing Yadav or Jadhav in south is the correct practice as they are Jadu vanshis.
The Jagas are Bhardwaj Brahmans and reside in and around Agra-Gwalior. Their records were frequently used by Col Tod in his books Annals of Rajasthan. Each family of Jaga looks after few gotras.
As per historical evidences (ref gazetteer of Mathura) the Jadu Vanshi rulers, though not in the genealogical line of Lord Krishna rulers have been ruling this area after lord Krishna. Andhakas (Krit Varma one of the adviser of adviser of Kaurvas), Sursenas and Vrishnis three main branches of Jadu Vanshis ruled over this region. 23 rulers of sursenas till the time of Nand of Magadh(4th century BC) were the rulers of the region. The first ruler being Vajra. The boundaries of their kingdom were Chmbal in south, upto 80 KMs north of Mathura and the kingdom of Kuru, Matsya in west and Panchala in East. The region was then known as Brahmarshidesha (that section of Aryavarta and inside of Madhyadesha which was noted for the noble, pious and orthodox conduct of the people. They were overthrown by Mahapadma Nanda. But soon the area was regained by Vrishnis the one of the branch of Jadu Vanshis. The republic of vrishnis has been mentioned by Chanakya in Chnadra Gupta Maurya’s period. Chankya has also mentioned them to be following the democratic system of governance( a form of panchayata system still prevalent in Jats), worshiping Balram and Krishna.
Jadu Vanshis were not very strict about inter caste marriages or widow marriage. In fact Lord Krishna married many of the queens of the kings whom he had killed in the battle. That is the reason they were never considered to be the Pal Bearer of Brahman religion and have been mentioned as asuras in Puranas and Krishna himself being called as Vratya (one outside the Pale) by ministers of Kauravas. As he helped Pandavas, the symbol of Brahman religion to est their rule over entire Aryavarta by killing so called Asuras the lord Krishna was considered as Avatara.
