While going through the postings on this forum and JatHistory mailing list one can infer about jats during period before 10th century and after rise of bharatpur dynastyy. But what is most interesting is lives of jats during the most turbulent period of indian history(specially north india) that is after the invasion of Ghaznavi and Gori. The fact that most of jats are living in the area surrounding Delhi and they are predominantly hindu even after hordes of muslim tyrants tried to convert local population by fear of sword or lure of fortune it would be really wonderful if some of members could throw light on jats of these times.

A support system existed.

It was the Khap and the Sarv Khap system.

That system united the Jats, and they were able to resist, recuperate and recover, despite the worse adversities.

That is one reason they stayed Hindus, with more of a Vedic, Shaivites flavour, not a Brahmanical Vaishnavism.

The arya samaj helped further reinforcing the vedicism of the Jats.

There is material on this and the Jathistory site.

More research needs to be done on Khaps. much data is sadly lost, but what remains must be pieced together.

That is why we have formed the Jathistory list to encourage people to bring out material, and discuss it with other non Jat scholars.
