Thakur Desraj in 1934 wrote his pioneering book” Jat Ithihass”, History of the Jats, in Hindi.

The book covers the history from the origin, through the vedic, Buddhist, and late- Hindu period.

It covers the spread of the Jats to Central Asia, and Europe , an dtheir linkages with the Getae and the Goths.

This book was the product of a lifetime of research, and his insight is truly amazing for that period.

Extracts are now available for, research and discussion at :

Would some members volunteer for translating this.?

There are ten chapters in all.

10 persons would make light work, and do a great service to the community, by spreading the classic work all over the net.

Written 70 years ago, the basic understanding of thrust of Jat history has not changed much since he wrote his book.

That, if anything, speaks volumes for his sheer genius.

We should get his work out to more and more people.

So would I.

We need volunteers

For a few pages each, 20 volunteers could do this in a week.

Who will be first to come forward ?

Any one out there ??

Dear Ravi,

I would be very happy to contribute!

*********
Thanks mandeep

How much can you handle.

Would chapter 1 be Ok or would it be too much.

How about you take pages 1 to 10 of Chapter 1.

The next volunteer can take Chapter 2, pages 1 to 10.

and so on.

That way we will get a simultaneous effort.

Many hands make light work.

Do not expect a reward or anyone to thank you.

Your gift to your community will be your only blessings and their thanks

When you finish, please send the text to me for review.

Next step- let us get some volunters for the review process.

This must be a joint effort

Then it will have value

Mandeep

Mine was a general comment, emphasing immense value of the voluntary contribution that people like you do.

The fact you have come forward speaks for itself.

My comment was/is intended to get others involved.

We need more people to come forward.

I hope this clarifies and again please accept my gratitude for agreeing to help.
