Ram Ram!!

Hi,

Listen I would like to learn more about Jat history with reference to when the Saka races entered the subcontinent.
And some info on King Porus (the jat plz).

Can somebody plz tell me briefly some of the history. And if possible, provide some reference to some books.

Ther is now much materal on this site and the Yahoo Jat history.

JOON's book, most of is now online.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JatHistory/message/722

See also the files secton

Dhillon 's book is also online.

See files section for links

Desraj is also Online, if you are confortable with HIndi.

There are many book references in this site too.

For a more serious discussion of Porus etc

You may wish to search for Alexander, Porus, Paur, Pauria in the Yahoo Jathistory archives

Briefly, Porus , is a misnomer for Paur, ( now found as Pauria, Pawar). It is a clan name.

It can be traced back to the Rig Veda.

It was the Jats, and the leadership of the Paur clan who defeated Alexander, and stppoed his further advance.

Happy reading
