View Full Version : I asked God

I asked God why I wasn't rich.
He showed me a man with the wealth of a thousand kings, who was lonely, and had no one to share it with.

I asked God why I wasn't beautiful.
He showed me a woman more beautiful than any other, who was ugly because of her vanity.

I asked God why He'd allowed me to become old.
He showed me a boy of 16, who lay dead at the scene of a car accident.

I asked God why I didn't have a bigger house
He showed me a family of six, who had just been evicted from their tiny shack, and were forced, to live on the street.

I asked God why I had to work.
He showed me a man, who couldn't find a decent job, because he'd never learned to read.

I asked God why I wasn't more popular.
He showed me a socialite with a thousand friends, who all left the moment the money and parties were no longer there.

I asked God why I wasn't smarter.
He showed me a natural born genius, serving life in prison for making ill use of his knowledge.

I knew then how much He loved me

Nothing in life is more important than God and your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off to "some other time".

Very nice dear Mukesh.
Very nice indeed!!

Let me share a great prose with you:

The World Is Mine….

Today, upon a bus, I saw a very beautiful woman,
And wished I were as beautiful.
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch,
But as she passed, she passed a smile.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine,
I have two legs; the world is mine.

I stopped to buy some candy,
The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him, he seemed so glad,
If I were late, it'd do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me,"I thank you, you've been so kind,
It's nice to talk with folks like you". "You see", he said, "I'm blind".
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine,
I have two eyes; the world is mine.

Later, while walking down the street,
I saw a child I knew.
He stood and watched the others play,
but he did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said,"Why don't you join them dear?"
He looked ahead without a word. I forgot, he couldn't hear.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine,
I have two ears; the world is mine.

With eyes to see, the sunset's glow.
With feet to take me, where I'd go.
With ears to hear, what I'd know.

Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.

Nothing in life is more important than what we have been blessed with.

Sorry Mukesh, I couldn't remember the composer of this great poem - but, somehow, it was in my collection.

Mukesh Yaar, main toh kehta hun ki yeh Bhagwan hi khota hai !
Har cheez ke liye ek bahana ! Hadh ho gayee !

Why the hell didn't he get it right for the others ? And why doesn't he give
all what you ask for and without the negativities attached. Surely not every
rich man is lonely (for instance).

Aisa kar yaar, yeh Khota mil jaaye toh mere pass bhejna. I am going
to give him a solid kick on his sorry behind. Khamkhan pareshaan rakhta hai
sab ko, and still shows no sign of remorse.

Dear Mukesh and Shalendra bhai,

Thanks for sharing such nice thoughts. I am personally of the view that the God is like a director and we are like actors who have to lead the role of a character in this film called duniya. Best way to be happy is to do the role faithfully with full capabilities. Once the role is assigned This Director will not listen to change your role which He has already scripted for you !!!
