Can someone please advice....How can I trace my ancestory.
How were the records kept in old days and where would be a good start.

Yah friend you can contact some person who is staying in Haridwar. He can consult the Panditji who has a database of all the people staying in North India. May be this Idea will Click..
They have Pothi's with them as Databse
