bare-dare trend in bollywd nd indian audiances

    Dear All,

chaudhary rahul nadar said smthing in http://jatland.com/forums/showthread.............that made me write this thread.......thanks to rahul who made me to write all this nd bring my views to u all.........

Much has been said about the bare dare trend tht wraps Bollywood`s beautiful glam dolls--be it a bare back JULIE.,,or lip locks bt mallika sherawat nd pakistani actress meera.....

but the indian audiance opine tht woman must not expose...bt what do film makers do when they have a flourishing market for MALLIKA SHERAWAT`S murderous ways.........!!!!!!

Sex-sells.....! and more so when its a women.......

MY QUESTIONS TO ALL OF YOU...............

What were those women quarters of kings,, nde nawabs and maharajas...?? What were the devdaasis under grab of culture,,tradition nd religion?? Why is PROSTITUTION the second oldest profession?? WHY ND WHO LOOKS AT FEMALE BODIES AS PRODUCT OR AS AN OBJECT AND OTHERWISE WHAT DO THEY THINK OF A WOMEN??????

The fact is tht this is not happening because of any cultural or historical void...And we better get of the horse of the morality because each one f us is responsible for this situation....

AS a matter of fact wt is disturbing us is nt the commercialisation of the female body ,, bt the fact tht some women hav become wiser and they r running this business on their own nd finding some margin f profit in it.........

AS long as we men are doing it,, it was right ... when she was a devdasi,, a kaniz ,, a cocubine,, geisha girl was tht not commercialisation.....??? but this business(bollywod) has come to public sector frm private sector... nd tht is disturbing.................

INDIA is a democratic society and if it is nt it ought to be ......IF A WOMAN WITH HER OWN FREE WILL WANTS TO EXPOSE HERSELF,,, WHO R U ND WHO I M TO TELL HER NOT TO DO IT......???????

I WILL CONTINUE AS I KNOW LONG POST R NOT READ MORE.....BT I WANT U ALL TO READ THIS...........SPECIALLY RSNADIR...................

    OK Vikas,as you have raised this issue here[some people are not comfertable with open comments on such posts, even if they are highly educative for all...resons are many], i will try weigh my response in above light;

A woman has been the ornamental piece and a subject of exploitation since inception. Sex as such is a pure word and has nothing to do with what people associate it with....but then weaks have been and will always be on the recieving ends, specially women had been during previous centuries.Resons were simple ie:

    1] Lack of awareness
    2] Lack of education
3] Absolute dominance by men and confinement to the forewalls
4] Defined role of rearing children and looking after the house hold
5] Absolutely no/hardly any say in the matter of importance
6] No financial standind and thus total dependency on men.

And if these were the reasons in past[they are still there largly] women had to scumb to the DIKTATS of men[the mighty and powerful] be it sexual matters or any other aspect of life. During the late 20th century women came out of their defined places by challenging the so called opressers and steped out in search of wisdom and independence.A handfuls of them could succeed too but part of them got carried away in turn and started exhibiting that freedom to an extent of exhibition of theirs and others[who they associated and promoted] physical beings called BODY show...and surprisingly it sold like a hot cake. When men saw omen doing that...it perfactly suited their bussiness as now they need not to search for flesh but was voluntarily available at their door step at throw away price and in plenty. They tasted success and then Women too joined them in this business...and today it is flourishing like Wild fire.......And it is here to stay for long time to come........When miya-bibi rajji to hum kyun banne kajji?......Rangg le..and bang on regardless...chall thha lya jholla chutklyaan aala...kdde serious baat thha lyaya? Men had been the biggest culprit in past but today WOMEN too have to share this blame of getting exploited partly.

    AURAT TERI FIJJA AISSI
    JAB DEKHO WAISSI KI WAISSI.

I HAVE NO RESONS TO BLAME ANYBODY, IT HAD BEEN THAT WAY,IT REMAINS ALMOST THAT WAY AND IT IS GOING TO BE THAT WAY IF NOT WORST.

VERY INTERESTING THREAD THIS FOR SURE IF DISCUSSED THREADBARE.

well....interesting....when we talk of human equality, it inculdes both men and women...i dunn see ne reason why women sud be restrained from nething, be it acting n exposure in it coz everybody has right to choose his/her course of life. infact they are making men insecure...rahul u may be meeting more jats than rathee does ...but does it make u more adroit...there may b persons who live among jats all the time ..this doesnt make them the most righteous to decide abt jat welfare...personally i find nothing wrong in the way MALLAIKA S. has gone abt...infact she sud b a role model for wat she has achieved which we even wont dream of....there r so many gals ready to expose...no dearth of it....but the forte is still held by ms. SEHRAWAT..isnt it a big thing...take positivity of it, not negativity...u wil feel motivated...

    discussion has just started...

we'r the second largest pplation in world.... we even introduced the concept of kamasutra to the whole..world......... but when it comes to sex ... we can't talk it openly!!! ofcourse.. therz a problem!!! ... n as Dev sir mentioned... we men r definately.. somewhat responsible for this glass cealing.. against women!!!
but.. its good to see that time is changing pretty fast... n Bollywood plays an important role in it!! .. sum directors just want to make money.. but most of them.. actually put the real picture for us.. n makes us thiink.. wht it is..n wht it..sud be like!!
every one has the right to be successful.. to be indipendent ..or to be whtever they want ... in life!! whtr that be a man or a woman..... therz just no question abt it!!
don't argue with an idiot... people watching may not be able to tell the difference

I am as much proud of Mallika as I am of Virender Sehwag!

    Hi All,

Mallika is atleast not a Hypocrite. She has always been honest about what she does. there are others in the Industry who while joining say that they will never expose and we all see them doing exactly that at some or the other time. And they do it in a way that can embarrass Mallika as well

I believe ppl who critisize her are either trying to catch attention by doing so or they do not have the ability to match her.:p

Has Mallika ever crtiseized anyone on anything?
NO, coz she minds her own Business and she is doing it DAMN WELL!

Vikas raised a very good point. When it was men manging women, it was fine. Now, when women are capable enough of managing themselves on their own, we have a BIG Probelm!!

Films have always shown what ppl want to see and if that is not true, then why are these movies selling like hotcakes. Why are ppl going to Multiplexes and watching these movies?

I am as much proud of Mallika as I am of Virender Sehwag!

Rathee....the following quote is true that indian audience....but audience is not 1-2-4-8 ppl who could stop women from doing what they want to do....i feel that its not only the director's fault to want Mallika to do what he wants to do.....i would rather say its Mallika's fault if she agrees to do what someone else wants her to do....we can say its a shortcut to faster and huge income earnings....or whatever she says or we say....but one thing is for certain thats its not for AUDIENCE....

Sex-sells.....! and more so when its a women.... even if SEX sells but its not always appreciable....umpteen movies have rolled down the steps of Indian cinema despite many sex-scenes...it means that THE AUDIENCE still have a choice and the Directors or Actor/Actresses dont always succeed in convincing THE AUDIENCE....

Rupender here i want to point out that its not time thats changing its MORAL VALUES that are changing....it may be fast pace of life and this modern life-style that the mindsets are changed and the PERSPECTIVE of looking at things have changed dreastically....while the parents are more responsible than the kids as the modern parents dont see anything wrong in dressing their baby girls in half clothes from the beginning....and when the girl grows up she's so comfortable in that exposing dress.....she has been dressed into from the beginning.... Moreover to point about this BLIND and CLUELESS MODERNISM....i would say that modernism doesn't lie in exposing your body in short dresses and DRINKING N SMOKING...its all about freedom of EXPRESSION and more ways to look at life in DIFFERENT PROSPECTIVES and thinking OUT OF THE BOX....TIME kabhi nahi badalta....BADALTE HAIN YE KHUD KO BADALNE WALE AUR BADALTI HAIN NAZREIN....

    So called MODERNISM

Here i would express my own views in few words.....If the Girls want to follow this so called MODERNISM....then MUST STOP arguing about Eve-Teasing and RAPES....girls themselves provoke boys by flashing their flesh and then they blame boys....how double standard????

I come across this MODERNISM so frequently that its shocking.....Girls who drink and smoke in offices are scared of smoking at their own homes and run to toilets to smoke and switch on the Exhaust fans:D

Girls will drink huge amount of booze but then will buy mints and chewing gums to get rid of the smell????How ridiculous???? They will come to office fully dressed and will take off jackets and flaunt deep-necks....I havn't seen any call-centre that says....Only half-dressed females are allowed to work? Its the females who want to feel that they are in the USA or UK....aur duty khatam hote hi gale me dupatta daal ke sharifjadi ban ke gharwalon ki ankhon mein dhool jhonkegi....

Western dresses can be as Decent as a Saree....it only depends on the user how they want to be.....decent or indecent? The world is a MIX OF GOOD AND BAD....IT DEPENDS ON US WHAT WE WANT TO PICK AND HOW CONVINIENT WE ARE WITH OUR CHOICE.....EVERYTHING IS NOT IMPOSED ON US....WE JUST NEED TO BE FAIR IN OUR ACCEPTANCE....AND BE BOLD TO SAY YES THIS IS HOW WE ARE AND WE WANT TO BE....No blame on Kings/Nawabs/audiences....

Rathee i didn't say that only girls in short dresses are raped....it happens with Homely girls too....but it is provoking...thats what i meant to say and if girls feel its a matter of pride then should try to convince parents that there is nothing wrong in doing what they are doing and if we feel that its society that we are afraid of and we care for society then we mustn't do it.....but it should not be rocking as per our own comfort. They ofcourse not invite anyone to rape them but when there is a mishappening its a matter of fact that was the situation the girl was into? Our country and its set up is still quite different from the US and UK....and there security systems are far more effective than ours....in those countries 99 out of 100 gals wear these dresses so its not anything extraordinary.....her 5 out of 100 wear that and its like an EXCLAMATORY MARK....and still those girls who wear short skirt.....we can see them most of the time trying to pull it down....so why to do something we aren't comfortable in doing? Why to choose different dresses for home and out?If a girl thinks she is strong and bold enough to booze and smoke and roam around like a boy then there is not harm in doing it....Being out of PARDA doesn't mean being SHAMELESS....and one should break all the barriers....

Don't u ever thaught that we have adopted western culture only in terms of DRESSES & SPEECH.
Why cant we adopt their LOVE & PASSION towards their COUNTRY.
Their Attitude towards work, Their Honesty etc.

When Education & Attitude level does not match with the Fashion the society adopted then the result used to affect the Middle Class more which is not effective having source to defend them & their daughters, sisters & mothers.

Jo sahi hai wo sahi hota jo galat hota hai, chaahe jamana koi bhi ho.
