The work regarding updating of dictionary has been going quite well. Till now, there have been three phases : (i) Addition of 158 words on 10 February; (ii) Addition of 260 words on 25 February and (iii) Completion of additing Devanagari version of words in the entire dictionary.
I am happy to present the fourth phase now (though it is named Part-III) : the 303 precious and pure desi words. Some words are considered ‘lupt’ words such as ‘Ghaddsanni’. Many have multiple meanings, for example word ‘Daa’ contains four meanings.
There are two documents which are attached: One is bilingual document containing these 303 new words which have been added ‘as-it-is’ on our dictionary page two days back (on 11 April 2006). It is bifurcated in two parts on account of the factor that a document of more than 100 KB capacity cannot be attached with a post. The second part of the document contains English text only. This has been done for easy reference of those readers whose computers do not support Devanagri fonts.
Please do see the dictionary page which gives a new look now – containing a total of 1027 precious desi words written both in Devanagri and English, with English translation.
Jitender Singh Hoods needs a special thanks. More words suggested by him would appear in next phase.
For ease of reference, here is the complete list of these new 303 words (in Devanagri) which have been added two days back.
Again, many thanks for your attention.
