Thread: Your Say: To kiss or not to kiss

Post Your Say: To kiss or not to kiss

Your Say: To kiss or not to kiss
You may want to steal a few kisses from your guy/ girl when you are outside your home.

    BEWARE!

The country's moral police have struck again and are keeping an eye out for couples lip-locking in public.

New Delhi's authorities decided a fine of Rs 50 rupees levied under a 1936 law was too little to deter couples.

So, now, love birds who display their affection in public will be fined Rs 500 if caught making 'illegal use' of public spaces.

What's your take on this latest amendment?

A ban on dancing, curfews for pubs/ nightclubs, legal suits against nude models, a clamp down on dance bars, et al -- is the moral police going too far?

Do you think there should be a consensus before such rules are introduced?

Are we getting our priorities wrong and chasing trivial issues?

Also, have YOU been a victim of moral policing?

Consider this your space to rave, rant, vent your views and experiences on the subject

500 rs to bohot kam sain....5000/- hona chahiye ya 50000/- are these malls exempted from this law....kyunki malls me to ye hota hi rehta hai....aajkal inn MALLS me aakar bhi log aise act kartey hain jaise Europe me hon....hahahahahahaha....

Aisa prachar woh kartey hain jinke paas ghar nahi hotey....ya shayad unka pyaar ghar me samata nahin(jyada vishal hota hai) bahar nikal aata hai....or may be its another way to let the frustration out....ki bahar kiss karenge to jyada vishwas hoga ki sach-much pyar hai....:D

Whoever makes a LAW is capable to know before introducing it...so its right to do....it should be more strict....so far MOral values are concerned....provided MORAL is really left?

True, but who says kiss is absurd (unless it is done absurdly). Everybody does this to show your love to kids no body bothers but the problem starts when some somebody kisses same age opposite sex (I wouldn’t go to same sex here).

I think problem is with us who think ‘ke le bhai… kar di kiss... bus ho gya nass (at least chhori ka)...can't we walk away saying 'bache hein yaar OR chalta he'

Dev saab I understand we (our culture) are not ready for this at least in public) but wouldn't you appreciate that there is nothing wrong with the concept of kiss itself its the onlookers who make it sound obscene sometimes

Funny: I remember back in 80s when one of our relatives was married to a 'gori' in Austria and my grandmother use to comment 'bhai koi ajao, ya te sab ke chume le se'

    Phoney Indians....

Let's admit there aren't many who could dubbed more phoney than us Indians. Sabse jyada bachche paida karenge, aur un bachho ko sikhaeege, ''Beta sex is taboo.'' Sorry I forgot, they wont do even that coz uttering the three-letter-word in a decent family is prohibited!

We talk and back moral policing -- which is euphemism to nose poking -- and we relish all those sleazy MMSes (including that one which depicts Shahid and Kareena liplockin' -- see I am one of 'em).

We want the censor board to continue so that we are served the filtered stuff and we have video libraries on every nook and corner where we can watch porn films in private!

Talk about Maryada and Sheel even as crime against women is reaching alarming proportions and every other minute a woman is raped!

Preach Brahamcharya and boast Khajuraho and Kamasutra SIMUTAENOUSLY!

And had it not been this tendency, mere a mention of ''Kiss'' in the headline of this thread wouldn't have aroused so much curiosity in us jatlanders with yours truly readin the comments lasciviously and bother to write this stuff...

PS: The last observation is based on the fact that this thread was started at 1526 hrs today and has had 14 replies and whoppin 126 views and counting... in less than 7 hrs.

Offcourse, freedom of expression also includes freedom to express love. As they say beauty lies in the eyes of beholder well so does perversion. I think Indian society is full of prudes and perverts who can tolerate the display of violence in the form of "ladais" but cannot tolerate an expression of love-as simple as a kiss. Ram bhala kare aisa ka, amen.

As per my experience the scene is Delhi is not that bad, everything goes there. But the most bothersom are the stupid and cheap Delhi Police people, they have no morals and virtues. They can let the "n" number of rapes, murders and robberies in Delhi happening, but they cannot stand two teenagers sharing their first kiss. And the way they address unfortunate ones caught in such situation is horrendous, they would address the girl as if she was a prostitue and the guy a pimp. And all this commotion for just one bottle of whisky, a micky would do if you are Jat yourself. So I hope the situation gets better for lovers in Delhi, and also hope Delhi Police which is full of Jats cleans up its act.

    Cheers,

...Show of affection should be a private intimate moment rather than make a public display of!!!

Look, I live in the US right now of all places and let me tell you there is nothing more uncomfortable than be standing in a metro Rail (or somewhere equally public and of close quarters) and have a couple making out (jise kisi aama kae season mein 'dusheeri' aam choosan laag rahe hon!) right next to you!!!.... I don't care if you call that being 'prude' or not, but there is something about enjoying your own comfy personal space even in the most public of spaces, without it having be intruded upon by couples obviously getting a kick out of doing it infront of everyone or on some kind of equally kinky voyeurism trip!

And have you guys ever thought about another very important aspect; How good or less of a prude would you be when this is happening when you are in the presence of your parents, let's say?....or even more importantly; the kind of values we would be giving to our next generation and the young ones that access these very public spaces too?????????????...
You can even see it here (even the white parents etc) with their kids present trying to somehow shield their young ones from this confusing spectacle (for the kids) and obscenity in the open!!!

I have even personally overheard myself these 'supposedly very broad-minded Americans' shout out to such couples,"Hey, get a room dammit!!!"...
and so then really, to think a society as this one which is tolerant to almost everything and anything goes is driven and can have a short fuse sometimes on such public display, goes on to show that it is not about being some sorta 'prudish' society, but about what is appropriate and where! No problems against kissing, but please no public display....

[Let me not even get started on the gay bashing that happens here either, .......don't want the moral police after me again!]
...Wouldn't follow the trodden path, but shall leave a blazing trail!!!...

I thought the question in this thread is to kiss or not to kiss in public, and not to make out or not make out in public.

Unlike kissing , making out or eating each other eat rather suits closed or consealed enclosures only such as bed rooms, living rooms, motel rooms, class rooms, wash rooms, night clubs, cars, bitodas, sarson, gande, ya chane ke khet, chaubares, tubewells (that little room with tubewells) and so the list goes on :D So lets not get into making out but rather stick to Kissing :D

Private ali baat to bilkul theek he, par agar kissi ne kiss kar bhee diya to koi bijlee na padtee....

Shalainder bhai doosheeri aam ali baat to kher uncomfirtable he hee khaas tor pe jab koi parents ke sath ho...
par agar baat India ki karen to its just kiss being discussed here not the doosheeri aam, may be in 25th century we can look into starting that thread
