Abdul Nabi was a very cunning Faujdar who used to forcibly carry away Hindu girls/women from the festival places in Barij region to gratify his lust. So the Hindus approached Gokula Singh Jat Zamindar of Tilpat to save their honour by eliminating this lustful faujdar.

Moreover, he was very tyrannical officer who used to extort money from the people to gratify his lust for money also by demanding revenue collection several times during one year.

When he was killed in the fight with the peasants of the area belong to all castes and creeds led by Gokula Singh Jat, Crores of wealth in the form of cash, silver and gold was found amassed by him in less than two years' stay as Faujdar of Mathura.

After killing the tyrant, the Jat Zamindar returned to his home at Tilpat and gathered his supporters to oppose the advancing Mughal imperial attackers, that is why the fight took place at Tilpat.

But the final battle was contested at Mathura in which several thousand people were killed and Gokula Singh along with his one son and daughter as well as many supporters were captured by the Imperialist forces. They were humiliated and tortured to death and the son and daughter of Gokula Singh were forcibly converted to Islam.

The name of Mathura was converted to Islamabad on this occasion by the orders of Aurangzeb !

Tilpat dilli se 25 km door hai aur Mathura 150 se adhik. Dilli ke itna paas Hindu kaise jaagirdar ho sakte the? Dilli ke ird gird ka ilaaka saara mughlon ke kabze me thha. Doosra Mathura mein Abdun ko harane ke baad Tilpat ki aur badhna jo ki dilli ke najdeek tha ek atpati si baat lagti hai. Kya uddeshya dilli per aakarman ka thha?

The zaindars/jagirdars were appointed to collect revenue and there is no question why these allotted lands were so near the capital. Faridabad and Ballbhagarh were other Jat zamindaris in the khalisa lands in the vicinity of Delhi.

On the rest of the episode you are free to conjecture/imagine about the motives and movements of the participants and infer your own conclusion !

There is no end to putting such type of questions; If you have some solid reference material on the topic kindly share !

    Thanks

Mughalon ke granthon me likha jaata thha jis kisi ko bhi baadshah sarkkari mulhazim banata tha.

Maasir i almgiri kitab se kuch tathya Gokla ke baare me aise hain: "
Gokla Jat, the accursed rebel and the ring-leader of
the disturbance in the country of Tilpat, who was the cause
of the killing of 'Abdun Nabi Khan and had plundered the
pargana of S'adabad, [94] was captured through the valour
and efforts of Hasan 'Ali Khan and his peshkdr Shaikh
Raziuddin. The Khan sent him and his comrade Sonki
to the Emperor in charge of Shaikh Qawm. By imperial
order, his limbs were hacked off one after another in the
rhabutra of the kotwdli. His son and daughter were made
over to Jawahir Khan, ndzir, for being brought up (as
Muslims). The daughter was married to Shah Quli
Chelah (slave), an intimate servant of high rank. The son
became a memoriser of the Quran with the name of Fazil,
and in the opinion of the Emperor surpassed in correctness
all other memorisers, and he had the happiness of hearing
His Majesty's chanting of the Quran. "

Rebellion in earlier times were the independent Rulers , who did not obey the Mughal and ruled in their own style.

Gokula Singh had led the rebel forces to kill the Mughal Faujdar that too in the vicinity of two Mughal capitals Agra and Delhi, shows his higher position among the fellow farmers.

Moreover, the use of the adjectives like 'the accursed rebel and the ring leader of the disturbances' further confirm his higher status than ordinary people. He was a leader of the men shows that he wielded considerable influence in the area.

The strong Jat leaders who fought against the imperial Mughals and their supporters have been described as accursed rebels and also several bad names have been used with their names by the Persian history writers. Masir i Alamgiri was also written secretly because Aurangzeb had banned recording of history of his times.

I do not possess Persian sources hence to get more original data/information on the topic one has to consult them in Khudabux Library, Patana, National Library, Calcutta or N A I, Delhi and so on. If you want to dig deep kindly put up some efforts, please !

All the contemporary and semi contemporary sources on the Jat Uprising of 1669, which gave rise to chain of revolts against the Mughal rule, has been inviting the attention of historians for long. William Irvine in his voluminous Later Mughals, J N Sarkar in History of Aurangzeb in 5 Volumes and Fall of the Mughal Empire, Satish Chandra in Parties and Politics at the Mughal Court, Irfan Habib and so on have presented well researched documentation and papers on the issue. All these authors are agreed on the point that Gokula Singh was not an ordinary peasant but ranked with Jagirdar/Zamindar.

Gaon ke kam padhe likhon ko to aisi badi badi jagah ghusne main bhi dikkat hai. Yeh karya to aap jaise buddhijivi hi kar sakte hain. Is ke baare mein koi thos saboot milta hai kya? Ek aur baat likhi hai janshruti ki. Kya Veervar Gokla ke baare mein puraani jan shrutiyan prachalit hain? Kya kaaran hain ki kisi shodh karta ne brij bhoomi mein jakar Gokla ke jivan ke upar kuch shodh nahin kiya?

Kya aapke paas Gokla ki aur Ramdas ki bhenth ke baare me kuch jaankari hai?

Kya tilpat me garhi ke kuch avshehsh bache hain? Kya Tilpat ke maidaan mein jahan ladai hui thi wahan per mughlon ki kabrein hain?
