How you find recent add on/features on JL??

Hi All,

You all must have experienced recent Software upgradation, some add ons & features on JL lately.

Though I admire some of welcome changes and Software upgradation but I really didnt like some of new add-ons specially in Profile part!

So I decided to start a poll to learn how many of you like it and how many of u don't and want to roll back to classy old n light version!!

Kindly add your two cents about what u liked and what you didnt..

Well, I appreciate some of changes specially in Software framework and other backend changes but on the other end, frankly I didnt like any new features on JL specially in Profile area... some of features r really senseless like -

1) Visitor Messages - Which has no privacy option anybody can see anybody's msg board, its something like Orkut scrapbook, which nw provides privacy options. I suggest here Old Pager Msg should be implemented back. Pager msg was cool feature to get in connected with other users instantly.

2) Friends/Groups - This feature is also very much inspired by social networking sites, well here we've only one commuity thats JL and I guess all are frens here...so why divide our this small commuity in friends & social groups...I repeat Jatland is one single commuity so why divide!!

3) Album - I guess giving this option will lead to much more load on server and space, We've already one 'Photo Gallery' for all. Instead of this feature..we can give link to user's album under the Photo Gallery and we can also increase limit to add pics.

4) Complications - I find Profile part kinda complicated and it certainly will be a pain to edit/access specially to non-techie guys!


So all in all, I suggest JL admin to make it very much classy, light & simple like as it was before and enable Pager feature instead of this Orkut alike features like Visitor msg, groups, frens, album!

I quite liked it....its bit difficult to digest the pager messages being displayed like Orkut scraps....but it'll reduce the number of irritating friend requests n other crap. But should give tthe option of changing names too....like other new members have sort of funny/different display names n we cant modify that....there should be an option to change the display name or a limit should be set that a member can change a name to a maximum nos. i'm seeing a big ? in place of profile pics of friends...hope that will be removedapart from that its good job done

I notice that the largest font size for posts is now '3'. Earlier, it was available upto '5'. A year back, this facility was available upto font size '7'.

Though a few members had misused the large font facility in the past, nevertheless, I think the font size should now be raised to '4', if not '5'. This is particularly important so far as posts in Hindi (Devnagri) are concerned.

Admins may please consider this suggestion favourably.

i've no idea abt the previous version of JL, hwever i feel tht it does not matter if we take some gud ideas frm other social networking sites. JL still has its own identity nd hv sum features tht no other site is offering (correct me if i'm wrong)...here agn wch ideas r gud nd wch r bad is a controversial issue, with ppl having different opinion(s).

i wud say everything is fine...as long the server is not overloaded...as i write this, i cannot stop laughing...abt the interpretation of a joke by Sir Deswal which was originally posted by avesh dabas...here is goes
