I don't know where people are getting "history of gotras" from. But some of it is just unbelievable. For example - take the gotra of "Dahiya". One gotra very common in jats. The link is:
    http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-w...om/home/Dahiya

Do you honestly think this is believable??

"Dahiyas are said to be the descendants of Rishi Dadhichi ऋषि दधीचि, who gave his bones to the Gods (to make weapons with to fight the demons) in the Dev-asur Sangram."

I see this with history of many gotras. Just does not make sense.
    _______________________________

    Now if this is believable:

“The Dahi were spread over the whole country (Persia) from the Caspian sea to the Persian Gulf and the Tigris. They are mentioned in the scriptures, [2] among the Samarian Colonists, being classed with the men of Archoe Erech (Orkan) of Babylonia of Susa and of Elam.“ [3] According to Dr. Kephart [19] the Caspian Sea derives its name from the one group of Dahae (Dahiya Jats) known as Caspi. Dahiya are the ancient royal bloodline of jats."
    ___________________________________

Then whoever has written this has forgot to include this:

"Dahae (Old Persian Dahâ): nomadic tribe in the south of modern Kazakhstan. The name is also spelled Daai, Dai, or Daoi." One of the tribes was known as the Dahâ, which is the Persian word for 'robbers'. This name need not surprise us; nomad tribes often received names like this from the people in the towns who suffered from their raids.

Sir i've a suggestion related to "Wiki" while adding some new words i found few wors that are COMONLY used for both MAN/WOMAN....below is an example....Why noly LADY is used.... it'll be better if we give correct and most apt meaning that are derived from words....फूहड़ is sed for both men & women...not restricted only to LADY. I hope you understand the concern

; Foohadd फूहड़ : The lady with no sense of hygiene and who performs all acts in a haphazard manner.
    I AM WHAT I AM....JAT.... 16X2=8

    Sunitaji,

You have rightly corrected the word foohadd. Why only for ladies?

A new category on JL Wiki

A new category has been created for The Wrestlers looking to more number and popular demand. Names have been moved from The Players. Some names are red and need to create pages for them.
    have a look at - http://www.jatland.com/home/The_Wrestlers

    Regards,
    Laxman Burdak

  16. #56
Most of the Wrestlers in the new category created for them have very little info. Many do not have info about their village and the state. Such articles have a category below them - No State. Our members may put these info and replace No State with say Jats From Haryana or so.

    Updated Sursura, Kharnal, Tejaji articles

I visited places connected with Jat deity Tejaji such as Sursura in Ajmer district, Kharnal in Nagaur district on 15-16 March 2009.

I have updated articles connected with these May be seen:

    http://www.jatland.com/home/Kharnal

    http://www.jatland.com/home/Sursura

    http://www.jatland.com/home/Tejaji

There are good photos added to each article.

    What I felt about Sursura

Sursura - It is situated on Kishangarh-Hanumangarh Mega-highway. Sursura is the village where Tejaji died fighting with the enemies to protect the cows. Tejaji is probably earliest Jat character in the memory of the society in general and Jats in particular. But the place is not in good shape, as great as Tejaji. There is need to develop Sursura as a Unique Mukti Dham of Tejaji.

    Suggestions for improvement

    1. The Tejaji temple site is situated inside the residence area and approach is not that attractive. The temple is being renovated. According to a shilalekh of donors Shri Balma Ram Badwal of Sursura donated Rs 1.81 Lakh for the renovation. There is need to develop this campus to make it attractive for the tourists.

    2. Looking to limited space of the temple campus a new site should be developed on main road and made it Tejaji Museum.

    3. More people should come forward to preserve the history and the monuments associated with Tejaji

    4. Good example is Jambhoji Dham at Mukam near Nokha in Bikaner district where the Bishnoi Samaj has taken pains to Develop it as a unique monument . I have improved and added images of this Dham. May see -

    http://www.jatland.com/home/Jambhoji

    5. Why Jats can not Develop Sursura, as Mukti Dham of Tejaji as Good as Jambhoji Dham at Mukam

    Regards,
    Laxman Burdak

    Hi Arvindji,

I think we should put a part of our earning which may be 1 percent or as member think fit for the preservation of our history and monuments.

Before independence 80 percent of Jat earnings was snatched from us by Jagirdars.

I think we can save this much amount easily.

There is a need to make a system and channelize the energy and the savings of Jats.

There is a temple in the name of Dhanna Bhagat. We have listed it on Jat Monuments in JL Wiki:

Dhanna Bhagat Jat Mandir, Pushkar, Ajmer, Rajasthan
