Okie , for all those who are against wishes and who believe its quite comical to do the same answer this one for me please !
How may times have you turned your face away from a lil child smiling at you ( ofcourse the child u dont know ! ) ?
Are you offended to take those precious jewels?
No better sight that the gorgeous , heavenly smile of that lil kid!
Friends , life is about felicitation

My daughter was born in Holland and I got wishes from all of my dutch, french, english and german friends, at that time I was doing a project for Siemens, Germany. In weekly agenda my project leader assigned first task to visit my house to see my daughter and the whole team was there. Others who were not in my team,They themselves asked me to come to my house to visit Her.
Was it wastage of time???????
What about Indian Colleagues ....... Ya they all came to see my daughter but only after my invitation and that too after 6 months when I arranged a small function.
Friends, you can blame me totally for missing B'day Threads as i am/was totally against them and campaigned for the voting with Rajesh Bhai which resulted into a bad news for freelance B'Day wishers. ( Thanks to Satyeshwar )
Well, for all those who are in favour of starting a few threads almost everyday for B'Day Wishes and who thinks that freedom of starting new threads at jatland is their birth right would probably like to spare some time to check this link and obviously the polls to get back the beautiful moments ( posting b'day threads ) of their precious life.
Please have a look :
http://www.jatland.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19304
If you know a person closely, he will feel better when you personally call or wish him/her instead of posting a thread to show the world that you are wishing someone. I suppose that wishing b'day is not a social work by any means.
If you personaly don't know a person than you can post a Profile Visitor Msg or PM him/her for the wishes.
It seems a rubbish idea to add almost 10,000 ( members of jatland ) extra threads every year to burdon the Jatland server.
It's better to be alone than in a bad company.
I'm really happy to see u here supporting the members who do a little job of greeting other forum members on their b'days.
Now the problem is this Rajeev ji, we have a big draw back in our society that , here, people try their best to interfere in other's business. They try to frustrate others who are doing some exemplary work and undertaking sincere efforts for communal harmony and solicit warm relations with other. And some like to interfere only to make fun of them. They worthlessly try to create complicacy and their efforts to oppose this sterling work are beyond my understanding. They feel proud when an innocent member puts his views about his "honest efforts" and furnishes a clarification to them by doing so. Indeed, their poor mentality is yearning for sympathy.
Now the only thing which is in our hands is this that we should start to turn a deaf ear to them instantaneously and disregard their opinions. This is the only and the simplest solution for this dilemma.

With due regard to everybody's viewpoint, please have a feel of my views as I happen to be one of those blessed members who received these wishes. I strongly disagree to many people's point of view here as I personally feel this act to be like trespassing on an individual's privacy. I am new here and incidentally my birthday came before I could even post a single message on any of the forums. I am not a regular visitor here, but one fine day, I was surprised to see my profile painted with colorful graffitis from persons whom I don't know and have never interacted. I had no other option but to take help of admin. to ensure my profile is protected from receiving messages which I don't want. I was obliged by admin. but the scars still remain on my profile homepage. I hope and request admin. to look into the matter to sort out this problem. I can oblige all these distinguished members by giving them web addresses of various nari-niketan's, orphanages so that they can carry on with this sterling task and satisfy their urge of communal harmony or service to mankind.
Do the mods hand out any award for most idiotic and illogical thread.. This one has got to take the cake....
Vijay , I did not put forth my opinions on the thread that you gave me in link. I did put forward on this thread and for what I was answering on , please refer to the first post and/or the one quoted in this post of mine as well.
Vivek was concerned not about the number of new threads , but even against wishing someone in his/her private messages etc.
Now as Renu Tewatia ( a new member ) has said that she did not like the wishes and asked moderatros/admins to make her profile safe , I guess everyone can do that. Infact I am pretty sure that there would be options as to restrict people to commenting on the profile visitor messages. If not , then this option can be provided.
But if some one's profile is up on Internet to be visited , I do not believe that it's a bad idea to wish them if someone feels like. I personally have never wished anyone I have no ideas about but a couple with whom I have never interacted BECAUSE I do have a sense of gratitude , praise and appreciation for their contributions on the forum.
And as Sandeep Kadian pointed out , if ever there was an award for the stupidity of the thread , this one is deserving enough.
And i do reiterate please invest in constructive things.
==================================
Of course I concured this one in my previous post , but for sure another questions to the Mods:
Waht do you do to enhance the quality of posts on the forum ? Are there any sincere efforts in this regards?
Anyone looking at the quality of posts other than the work of screening posts for abuse and other things!!!
WE do have lots of examples of :
1. Blank Posts.
2. Half Liners.
3. totally irrelevant posts.
4. History mixed with Chemistry!
5. Curse on our religious Gods.
6. Casteist and sect specific / targetting posts.
==========
And for all those who are against wishing someone on his birthday , If you can tolerate the above mentioned nonsense and comic , I am pretty sure you should be indifferent to someone wishing another person.
Or do I assume you find fun in the above mentioned things ?
Anil, the link i provided in my previous post was not specifically for you but it was for everyone who is posting as well as reading the discussion going on this thread.
I think you still remember that few months back there was almost a competition between some members that who will post the B'day wishes thread for whom. B'day threads are not allowed these days and maybe new members don't know how, when and why that happened. To avoid any discussion on this topic here again i just posted that link so that new members can read and analyze.
Renu also brought forward a genuine point when strangers fill up someone's mail box with trucks full of unwanted wishes . It's strange that some people just wish randomly.
I, like other members here, also wish people on certain occasions but i wish only to whom i know and they knows me. I am not saying that i dislike if someone i don't know wishes me ... of course i do like but it is not necessory that every person likes that.
So, in my opinion one should at least know about the person whom they are wishing instead of checking out daily calender and doing the job.
It's better to be alone than in a bad company.
It's better to be alone than in a bad company.
A great example of how to make things complicated
I dont know whats the big deal here .... I mean if someone has enough time, is lured with so much affection & desperation :p and is so excited about wishing someone a happy birthday then let him do ... whats the issue !!
If someone doesn't wish to receive any such message then he can easily choose the option of allowing only moderators & contacts to message him ....... & this option is just a click away to be exercised. Believe me ... I sware ..... !!! :D
And about one-liners & constructism theories : There is a simple funda in life that noonne cant impose his whims & fancies on others ! And in case he wishes that the public should take his words seriously & practise 'goodness' as he does, then one or two time mentioning of this view point is enough to express his deep concern ....
..... preaching the same old raga even after seeing that it is being cold shouldered each time is utter nuisance .... isnt it .....
Jab wo 'buddhijeevi' kism ke praani apna raag alaapne se nahi baaj aate to ye bechaare 'half & one liners ke maare' kaha se kuch samjhenge ....
Now being a bit more serious, its a golden rule that there is a place for everything & everything must be in its place - but it doesnt means that a person or a group of person decides what this 'everything' is or must be !!
The wish of majority prevails !
Freedom of masses cant be overlooked and seriousness in actions cant be expected at all points of time from everyone !
Be free & let others feel free unless they mock down at someone specifically or in a real bad spirit.
One must never try imposing his attitudes, perceptions, viewpoints, etc on others even if they are the most rational ones ! Else, his presence is started to be felt unwarranted & he loses public recognition and concern and his words are started to be taken as just a heap of useless bitterness.
To become a voice that is heard, one has to be with the masses, like the masses & for the masses ...... !!!
I didnt wished to be harsh but in case I have sounded to be, believe me others too would have felt the same on hearing such useless verdicts at many a points in this thread. Be good but at the same time be practical too!
Vijay bhai thanks for providing the important link. I have visited the link first time and I have got the chance to know the opinion of other members who are not contributing to this thread due to any reason.:p
And anil bhai If u have checked out the link then there is nothing to say....
