A New Initiative For JL

A bunch of new blood and thoughtful members have been raising their voices for the last few months for some kind of participation or some kind of task sharing here on JL. And a result of this is the new Editorial section.

I got an Idea and wish to share with you all. Please provide your views and if found good then let us do it.

I propose to make several groups.
1) Judges - They will be ranking the efforts out of the teams. Encourage them and provide their valuable thoughts and feedbacks time to time. Also they will maintain decorum and their actions will be acceptable to all of the teams with no regrets and counter attacks.
Some names I suggest for this ...
Col. Tewatia, Dev Dahiya ji, Dnd Ji, Col. Jagmohan, Harvinder Malik, Satyeshwar, BLS ji, Poonam, Shailendra hooda, virender
narwal, Navin Gulia etc.

2) Teams
These will keep changing and judges will keep shuffling the members and teams after each events.

We can start with few teams say 5 initially. And will keep discussing after each event and judges will decide who will be the next team leaders and members.

Say to start with have the following five teams under
a) Anil Dalal
b) Samar Kadian
c) Maniisha
d) Shweta Dhaka
e) Jitender Takhar

They can pick 4/5 members each and publish their names.
Currently I am having a topic in mind which can be given to them to come up with presentations, materials and other nice material related to that topic. After a complete study and submission of the material. Judges can rate them. Here either that team will gain a sticy thread in their appreciation for a month with names of all the members and contribution. "Members of the Month".

Now the material can be used by Adaa or any other NGO or person who is willing to use that material.

In this way we will be having some nice presentations, posters, cartoons (Shail types) and material. Also there will be some good positive contributions and energies floating here on JL.

1) First step is to get the responses.Judges and Team leaders named can come up and write to me visitor message if they are willing to take this responsibility or not for the time being due to some issues.
2) I will then publish their names here and a judge Panel will be formed. Also the team leaders who accepted will also find their names here.
3) Now here I would like to ask Satyeshwar if any group mailid can be there for this judge panel where the teams can send mails to communicate. Or it will be better to communicate on the thread only.
4) Judges will talk to each other say they can fix dates for the replies. Each team lead will be the channel between the judges and team members. Judges will decide dates for the presentations/material to be submitted.
5) Judges will announce the ranks. Also share the material by each team.
6) The material can be clubbed and used as it is by the members/ngo/children for the welfare.

Please provide your views and suggestions.

I am sure we all are responsible enough to take it forward without any controvercy.

In my opinion JL is a democratic platform and everybody has equal right to raise his voice unless you are going to make it XYZ Pvt. Ltd. And all members will be warned if there is any counter attacks against these Judges, they will be expelled.

Not to start any controversy , but on a big system , there is no absolute democracy ( like Manmohan is PM , tomorrow if he decided to fire you , he can , right ? ) . But he is chosen democratically!

Now the same goes with these judges. I am sure even if you want to have polls to decide them , the suggestion of Jitender will make it. So accepting the majority decision is what is democracy to me on Jatland.

not taking any credit away from you ( and also not away from mine ) , i have been crying over this same rhetoric for at least a few months now.


I am totally up for such kind of a thing. The activities can be constrained for astart and then can range upto any thing including some real concrete ground work , later on this , i will try to show things by examples rather than talking.

What I want is that all moderators , senior members , team leads and tema members to pursue this with all the energy.

Keeping your structure , I am suggesting only 3 teams. Club some people together ! Ofcourse if we gather success we can always break the teams , I propose the following :

1) Samar and Jit

2) Maniisha and Nysa ( I could not keep them separate , else bahut maarti mere ko :p )

3) My team is full : Anil Dalal, Vijay Singh , Shweta Dhaka, Devender Kumar, Sumit Sehrawat, Braham Tewatia. :D ( Am sure this one is going to be a deadly combo :p ).

Ofcourse I chose all the team members of mine without any consent , please feel free to drop out if you so wish

Are you sure?????? He can fire me........and there is no counter attack from my side?? forget the effect of my attack, but possibility is there in a democratic system.

PM just a representative and Parliament represents the whole nation each and every individual. PM is answerable for his each action and anyone can raise his voice against him if he is not right ( if system is big, there are ways to do that).

The term absolute democracy, I don't think exists. Its different how effective is our democratic system.

Thoughtful, senior and respected members are supposed to perform their duties without having the titles. And what are their duties...not required to explain here.

Each thread starts with a topic and anybody express his views, then whats the use of giving topic specifically to a team, And if it is given to a specific team of 4-5 members then there is no choice for other members to share/express their views on that particular topic????????? is it fair...

Now judges will going to decide who is the next team leader for a particular topic rather than the master/specialist in that must be the team leader, Who can give right direction to the thread.

Pls don't take it as controversy, what I think I expresses.

Bhai Jitender, indeed a gud start with a productive idea and count me in for any kinda activity. Also, i am comfortable with any team.

But my fear is how much practical this idea is and that too on JL. Anyway, lets give it a shot, may be it will prove that we jats are changed(imbibed something gud)

the idea floated by jitender bhai is very ambitious. i am glad to see the excitement in anil nd other worthy members, but at the same time the concerns raised by bhai rajeev(ji) singh(ji) paweria(ji) (plus another extra bonus "ji" :p) are very genuine and should be appreciated.

my take : "जानी हमें भी जज वज बनाओ तो हम भी खेलेंगे... ये मेंबर शेम्बेर बनना हमारी फितरत में नहीं, और ना ही हम इसके लायक हैं." (refer my 1st line on the post) :D:D:D

I also suggest Mr. Brahm ji as one of the judges. His knowledge is vast on many subjects as well as i find his replies unbiased may be little funny sometimes but that just for a break. He has that capability to judge and see all with same sight. Instead of Sateyshwar(as he said it may give rise to controvercies) we can have Mr Brahm as judge.

The idea proposed by Jitender bhai is indeed nice & creative, but I feel that topic must be given before hand. An illustrative example of a dummy topic and what all is expected from the members can also be given so as to facilitate the people out here to develop a framework about what this is all about.

Moreover, there can be a sort of mixed judging. Say, 40% marks will be alloted by the prospective judges and the rest 60% marks can be given by all the members of Jatland through a poll. This will ensure more transparency and a mixed result.

That is contradictory to what you said in the earlie post of yours as quoted above. And whatever idea of democracy you have , i am pretty sure more than that would be there if any of the members quoted by Jitender is put to vote. And lets not go in what is "supposed" to. No process can ensure an absolute democracy here , so there aint any democracy unless yu believe in some people , unless you have faith and your first statements dont reflect any kind of faith even in the senior members.

This makes me so very sad , trust me it does. It really asks me to go and bang my head on the wall literally. I am starting to internalise what Satinder had to say about me in an "fun" thread Nowhere Jitender mentioned to start threads and nly let these team members to express. Totally makes me believe that people cannot go beyond the notion of Jatland being an online forum where you have threads and you can put your views in writing , or a Chaupal where you can go and chat.
What Jitender is saying , or lets better put it , what i understood was of an initiative by which the energy , creativity of Jatland can be utilised for some good causes. The topics can range on vast variety of subjects and can be utilised by NGOs or others and also can be presented to audience in general. This should be the first step towards makeing JL venture in reality.

Now judges will going to decide who is the next team leader for a particular topic rather than the master/specialist in that must be the team leader, Who can give right direction to the thread.

No body stopped you from coming out with your ideas/presentations or any other material and Jitender bhai please have a wild card entry for people who believe that the team members are not the "right" people to give directions to that topic!

People who should take responsibilities shy away to prevent themselves from controversies ( they are scared beforehand). Then there are those who want to be judges rather than team members. Then there are those who are a bit concerned , and so are reserved. And then there are those to whom there cannot be anything beyond a forum of threads and chatrooms.
