Manoj bhai ....Dell has changed !!!
DELL-XPS is really a great series... My official XPS laptop gives super performance with with 2GB RAM with Vista as OS...It has everything!! And, I have used laptops of many brands and make with different OS... but this one is really way above others

In my opinion, you have made best choice by considering XPS series !

PS@ Sachin bhai: Kayi baalak "Maach" k lappy kehya karein aajkal ... Kayi baar mein imagine karya karun... mharey gaam aale PATTWAARI ne agar land records ek laptop mein daal k de diye jaan.... toh uska kaam kasoota fast ho jya... ebb woh 1 din mein 1 farad banna k diya kare.... er haan Rs200 "nagadh" lewe sei ek faradh k.....

50K me Dell XPS 1330 ya 1530 le le. Best deal hai. 3 gig RAM, 250 gig HDD ar kaam ne kasuuta kheench dega. I used Sony Vaio VGNSR 26GN , 3 gig RAM, 250 gig HDD, 13in screen, and its the lightest computer that I have used till date. Its almost as thick as a big notebook. In India that would be around 70K I guess. bhai itna light se ak hava me uchhaal dega to kaagaj jyu neeche aavega :D

    i used different laptops ( Acer,sony,Dell,IBM)

    Some point to check:--

    1) Microprocessor:- Don't go only for speed.. Check VLSI Chip process ( 90nm,65nm,45nm). Lower no. of the VLSI chip process (today's market 45nm) consume lower power for same speed.. Battery run long.... ......Check for L2 cache, bigger L2 cache.. system run faster...
Faster the value of FSB( like 667Mbps,800mbps,1067mbps).. it can support faster memory.

2)DDR Ram(Memory):-- Buy memory that is matching your FSB speed. e.g. if your Microprocessor support 667MBPS and putting a 800Mbps memory( DDR RAM) is wasting of money.. And if you are putting 667Mbps memory, in a system that have 800mbps or higher FSb then you are not getting full performance of your processor....and at last not least check for CAS latency of your DDR memory(RAM), on your memory u can see a no. like "5-5-5" or "6-6-6" or "7-7-7".. lower the number... you can get better performance..

    3) Mother board chip:-- mostly people don't know about this term.. in a PC/laptop.. there is Microprocessor & set of chips( some time known as North & South Bridge, normally 2 chip ). U are buying higher end Microprocessor, Good DDR RAM memory.. but if motherboard have old/slow speed Chip set then you will not get good performance.. ..Some name of chip sets ( older chip from INTEL 865,945, old G31,G33.. for latest check with INTEL site).. If you are using Celeron processor with 945 chip set with 667Mbps DDR RAM memory & in another case you have Core 2 Dua & same chip 945.. with 800/1067Mbps DDR memory... in that there will only very small gain in IInd case.

    4) Hard disk:---Faster speed & bigger cache & properly managed files, can make a better system. If money is not issue in that case ask for solid state hard disk..

    5) Your Chip set should support :-- PCI Express ( PCMCIA card outdated) card slot, USB2.0 hub, fast Ethernet,1394a/b(also known as FIREWIRE, Some camcorder use firewire only ), External display support.

    6) LCD screen type:-- It doesn't help in speed....but about display a faster response time & Contrast ratio better then 1000:1 BUT... bad thing manufacture are not providing details about LCD screen. And u like to play fast game then u also need display card in your system.

    7) Virus & Antivirus & File management also matter to slow down your speed.

    Hope this will help you...

I am not biased to some specific brand & model....
We should not compare two product with different configuration..

One line comment about Dell's XPS : LCD screen is very good compare to other that I used

By default Dell is not coming with international warranty.. & in India XPS 1530 is not avaialble...

I think going for dell XPS is an excellently efficient option. Normally we don't need hyper configurations for the kind of work we generally do.

Unless u are a high end graphics professional etc its the right choice to buy dell as its quite robust in and can sustain a bit rough handling as well.
Strive not to be a success, rather to be of value.

well the technology keeps changing everyday....and after a few years u might feel tht ur laptop is not good enough for the work as comapred to the new ones at tht time...so i wud suggest u tht its better to go for a lil cheaper laptop....and dell is ofcourse a good option..... u shud try either dell inspiron series 1525 or inspiron 15....u can also have a look at inspiron 1420 and d studio series they have...range starts from i guess 28000 and u can save good amount of money:D.....one more thing buy Street design or Chill design or White Gloss design.....These three models will save your laptop from scratches and it will look like new for long time
