Recently, I have been in Jalandhar for three days and got chance to visit Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Wagah Border. It was a great moment in my file, luckily I reached Wagah border at right time and able to see (and feel) the parade. The Wagah border closing 'lowering of the flags' ceremony which is a daily military practice was really gave me great experience. I have seen it on TV several time but in real it was amazing.

First time I saw LOC was at this place. It was an enthralling experience to feel like an Indian!

I would highly recommend Gurez sector in Kashmir for those who want themselves all alone in the vicinity of nature! No words can describe the beauty of this place!

Dear Samar singh, you have strted good topic.

I have visted about 40- Countries in all 6- Continents. I found Australia and Canada peaceful. Mosr friendly people are in Napoli, Italy. their names are like indian names in villages. very nice people.
I do not like USA, so many negros even do not afraid of Polce Violent Country, avoid the ares where they are in majority.
If some body want more information can contact me, would be resdy to give avice on Foreign travel.

New Vrindaban, Palace of Gold, starting place for Iskon temples. Swami Prabhupad's place. Very peaceful place in West Virginia. Very interesting history, about a person who could accomplish so much in a short time in foreign land.

Having flown via a few airports, I would like to share prons and cons of a few airports/flights I have used for stopovers:

    Dubai (Emirates)
Good(Emirates terminal) - good shopping point, comfortable seating, plenty of eatries
Bad - Flying time to India, flying time to Dubai is equal to flying anywhere in India and stopover and India flight is an addon, a lot to walk if your gates are far away or if your plane is parked remotely

Airline - Good entertainment system, friendly crew, if lucky you can be upgraded(I was), Their 777 can feel a bit cramp, they fit 10 customers where rest fit 9

    Amsterdam(Delta/KLM)
Good- plenty to do at airport, museum, eating, shopping, casino, a direct train to city center takes only 15-20 min
Bad- poor quality seating and limited bathroom space

KLM - Clean, friendly crewm good seat recline, on time
BAD- limited leg space, if you are tall dont fly them, mostly economy configuration, 747s they fly to India are old but better than their new A330s they fly to US. Believe it of now just before landing in Delhi the roof of the plane started leaking with water on the row I was seated in and Air Hostess acted indifferent

    Brussels(Jet Airways)
Good- just a neat airport with limited shopping and decent seating
    Bad- Limited shopping

    Airline- good food, good crew
Bad- A330s, not a big fan of them

    Singapore
Good- Plenty fo food, shopping, seating
Bad- not advised if flying to US or other side, long flights

Singapore Airlines- Remember to order Indian meals if you are not a fan of asian food, but good airline

    Frankfurt/Lufthansa
Good- Well connected by train to entire Germany, plenty to eat, comfortable check in, Lufthansa has connections to everywhere in the world, smooth passport control
Bad- no free wi-fi, limited seating

Lufthansa- make sure to get your meals right, I was given a vegan meal cause they ran out of other options and I couldnt eat it. Check your aircraft, avoind old 747s as they dont have IFE.

    New York(JFK-T4)/Air India Direct
Good- a lot of connections, a few shopping places and eatries, comfortable to get to, security doesnt take long
Bad- just a mediocre airport, nothing terribly bad, Immigration can be time consuming

Air India Direct- Great product, good timings, plenty of leg rooms, decent food, best if you are flying to US, Early arrival at JFK lets you have a fast immigration
BAD- Crew, I have had both good and bad experiences on my 4 flights on this sector

    Washington Dulles
Good- Clean, fast security, plenty to eat
Bad- far from city center, limited connectivity, limited flying options, Passport control can be very time consuming, depends on your arrival time

Will be back with more, hope people find this useful.

this march 2012, i visited HALDU PADAO name of a range of KALAGARH TIGER RESERVE which comes under CORBETT NATIONAL PARK.this place is named so becoz it has a big tree of haldu over here Englishmen forest officers used to stay and run forest administration.
located in the GARHWAL hills of uttarakhand this place is around 230 kms from delhi on NH 119.you could plan your trip as
1.delhi -haridwar-haldu padao-lansdowne(17 km ahead from your turn into forest area)
    2.delhi -haldu padao-lansdowne
only forest , wildlife lovers and adventure seekers should go,their is absolute calm ,peace and solace........no mobile coverage no electrivity only solar lights.your stay will be like recreating british raj period with very clean and well maintianed guest houses ,bon fire ,food cooked by the staff you have, to carry all stuff -aata ,rice, masala ,salt, milk, veg or nonvegetc...
if luck b ur sideyou may have chance to meet our national animal majestic tiger . i spotted crocodile ,deers, panda, barha singa.............their are lot of elephants, phythons but i could not spot them.

Interesting place. Looks like you stayed overnight at the place. Was it the forest rest house? Is it open to tourists?
    Pagdi Sambhal Jatta..!

Swaich bhai .we reached their in afternoon and stayed till next noon,it is a forest guest house named haldu padao their are many like this one, in near by area may be more than 30-40 under CORBETT NATIONAL PARK but ramnagar dikala range is too much exploited ,if you want true jungle expereince it is good place extreme privacy no cars horns, no humans to disturb you apart from your friends and forest security guys. map of the tiger reserve and guest house http://userpages.umbc.edu/~sjoshi1/mirror/corb.gif

it is open to tourist you have to book your stay in advance.. i got it done by somebody i think on internet also u can do it.
we were 5 excluding driver(you should have suv or muv we had tavera) they charged 2550 for night for two rooms

all jungle is dotted by big sal trees.it will be very cold at least 3-4 degree down inside jungle so if it is 10 degree at night in city it will surely slump to 7 degree Celsius .

and at last don`t take sheheri baccha(urban kids kind of ppl)they will miss their Mc dee n other stuff this place is for RAW kind of ppl jats fit in there best.

130 km/h has been my highest on Indian roads (Hyundai santro). But I strongly recommend that people do not try high speed driving on roads. It can get dangerous. Play safe, live well!

ULSAN is an industrial city of South Korea ,mainly into ship building . Today got chance to go out ,Me left the ship with my 3rd engineer at 1400 hrs. I have searched the google for the places of interest and found one old Buddhist temple name BULGUKSA BELL is near by the city. So we went to money changer and asked him about the place and he told it far almost one hour journey by train from ULSAn. so we changed the money and call taxi for ULSAN railway station and there we reach and asked for the train to BULGUKSA and found train at 1608 hrs so we bought the ticket and return train at 2034 hours. so we were having one hour for the train ,we went to nearby shopping mall and saw the latest electronic equipments but rate are at par with Indian market. after passing one hour we came to railway station and caught the train. The train journey was of almost 40m minutes but it was beautiful sites outside all hills around little drizzling with clouds and pleasant weather. we reached the railway station of BULGUSKA and outside the station we found one group of English speaking couples which were doing their social voluntarily duties for the week end ,so they dropped in their cars to the Temple. their gesture was really appreciable. when we reach the Temple location this was amazing on hills ,natural beauty ,i am not getting the words to explain but we feel like we are in heavens , so this was a location if we can dream of heavens so this can be the place. there we find plenty of tourist from around the globe, almost all the big name in hotel industry like HOTEL HILTON ,CONCORD to name a few were there in that place. we visited the temple and read the history and its explained the temple was built somewhere in 750 AD. IN all and all its like life time opportunity to see the place. Then we came back to the railway station to catch the train but having time so we had dinner and drinks. Cought the train back to ULSAN. Then went to shopping mall and did some shopping. Then we were looking for some night life a good disc ,we went to the happening adresses ,so they were full and no entry ,then we went to a place HOLYWOOD CLUB ,had few drinks and now came back on ship. So had a nice day.
