Best New Car for Tall people (limited budget)

Hi friends,

I m driving Alto Lx since last 3.5 yrs. Now I want to change it, reason of changing is not obvious as Alto is really cool car with not much impact on the pocket, but life means change so this car will have to give way to new one. Well few constraints in the way of easy selection are ..

budget maximum on road 6 Lac

my height is 6' 2'' and need spacious one .. hardik ichha hai ki meri driving seat ke paachai baithniye ke godde na tuttain i mean leg room obviously head room too ...

I m really not aware of the technicalities of the cars , such as engine, suspension, power etc..

Guys lets starts from here only .. Start suggesting ...

i give u the options and my one liners about them ...

Swift ... marutis do not give much in terms of interior and accessories, and also dont think there is enuf space inside

Hyundai i20 .... really costly one crossing my budget more EMI's:D but i like this what u say ... its really packed with technology

Accent ... Big Car in budget not sure about what is in it !!

WagonR ... good car but dont like the dubba shape ....

Well Ravi if u have flair for SUV`s then Bolero comes in ur range.If car is the only option,aankh meech key go for Swift diesel.

Try Suzuki Ritz in Diesel.... Height and spacewise better than Swift .... rest all is same as that of Swift VDI.....same engine same performance...


If you want to go for Petrol car, you can try Honda Jazz.... somewhat costly but then it comes fully loaded with lots of space!


Baaki Tata walon ne ek nayi car nikaali hai isi mahiney mein...... 6-7 lakh ki range mein.... uske steering ne bhi marodd ke dekh aa ek be......


My suggestion: At least go for test ride once for all the options.... before you finalize on any car.

Estillo got maximum leg space for driver in small cars
Now it comes with K-Series engine. I haven't tried but as per leg space estillo is best and cheap also.Go for test drive before purchasing.SX4 is also coming with few modifications in january i think.Maruti is certainly best choice in terms of service and resale.

Ravi, pay heeds to Rupi's suggestion. Btw if Swift doesn't fit the bill, try ur hands on Wagon R and Hyundai i10 both hatchbacks got plenty of space.

Bhai tu to 6'2" hi hai? adde to 6'4" height ss, manne to Wagon R mein ghanna leg room dikhya, thou looks r lil boxy but its quite a practical car for Indian traffic n' also for Xtra Tall guys like us.

Estilo got more leg space then Wagon-R .wagon r ke cup holder steering ke neeche kaafi space kha jate hain. More over it got dual tone beige interiors.Chevrolet Aveo-UVA is another good choice.

Also, new Estilo looks much better than Wagon R (box type).

Bolero khal taar degi maintainance mein. Isne mhains koni dhoni bhai.Ghar khater car tohwe hai. Swift se aachi indica vista le lo satsti ki sasti aur same engine with more space. Punto bhi ND hai .

Punto, Swift VDI aur Indica Vista mein same engine hai..... But still performance wise Swift is better..... may be becuase of better sync up among Engine, gear and body design...... Indica Vista, good car with less cost... spare bhi easily available.... Lekin not sure about Punto....

Bhai g dekho petrol lene hai ya diesel. Agar petrol lene hai to Swift dzire is one of the best in segment. Agree interior is not that much good but enough spacious and milleage is good too on petrol it can give u around 15km/ltr, i am using the same and fully satisfied.
If diesel than also if u can streach upto 6.5 go for again Swift diesel.
Or for a nuclear family ritz also a good choice.
Bakki Indica i don't like personally its always gives the impression of Taxi:p.
i20 is a good car can't say on milleage basis, or if milleage is not a issue u can go for Accent it will cost u around 5.4lcs but only petrol is availale and milleage is around 10.

For a family , rule out Dzire - the rear seat / legroom is not very comfortable.
Ikon TDCi (Diesel) would be a VFM - running cost would be 40-45% cheaper than Petrol. Logan is very spacious/comfortable but performance is just decent. As such it will not fall in your budget.
Amongst petrol cars, you could choose from Accent & Fiesta Special Edition . Between the two, Fiesta would be a better choice - more space/comfort & better handling/braking.


Test-drive the 3 cars (with family) - Ikon TDCi, Fiesta & Accent.

lol if ur reason for changing such a good car is sheer need for change then u must reconsider it cus alto is so good a car nd change is what we go for life is too constant to be adventurous .well now getting directed towards the ques i must tell you that Swift dzire is okk by ext appearance but not that comfortable so not a good place to be ,then accent nd fiesta would really cost u a lil too much .

We had ford fiesta for 4 long years nd believe me it served a dual purpose one of providing luxurious comfort and second giving an awesome mileage far far better than any diesel run car.we bought that of 7.80 lacs nd sold it for civic at around 4.70 lacs and we were satisfied by the rationale that somewhere after all one has to pay the price of owning a big car lol.I want to add one more thing here that ford fiesta is not at all high on maintenance.

And ur right wagon R is a complete turn off, santro is so common car now nd may be not that comfy for u.The new ford iKon can serve ur purpose well as it is very good from both inside and outside ND what i really liked in this is that it has diesel based engine which is 1.4 lt dura torq tdci same as in ford fiesta which is a powerful one then it's quite spacious !.what's even more surprising that inspite of having so many fantastic features the price is around 4.60 lacs in showrooms,how much wud it cost on road i dont know but it's affordable .Yet another car in the row is "figo" aww!! it's gonna be launched in 2010 nd it's a gd catch too .

volkswagon that too a big mark in car industry is launching it's much awaited car called "polo"awesome it is with enough of space ,affordable price nd wud be available in diesel version also.I personally believe that diesel versions always have an upperhand over petrol ones.

RITZ,SPLASH AND INDIGO ARE A BIG NO CUS they just dont provide enough rooms that u seem to be talking about and are highly highly uncomfortable,they are pretending but not quite managing to be classy.

logan is gd space wise but i doubt if it's available in diesel version ?it can't be called a sedan or mid size sedan so, looks wise lil challenged.
