इसके बाद भी आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार नहीं किए जाने पर नेहा छिकारा के परिजनों ने पुलिस पर भी मिलीभगत के आरोप लगाए और सीबीआई जांच की मांग की। ऐसे में पहले ही डीजीपी राठौर मामले में उलझे हरियाणा के पुलिस विभाग ने इस मामले की जांच अपने स्टेट विजिलेंस ब्यूरो को सौंप दी है। इस संबंध में सोमवार को गुड़गांव पुलिस के पास अपनी अब तक की जांच स्टेट विजिलेंस ब्यूरो को सौंप देने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। पुलिस कमिश्नर एसएस देशवाल के मुताबिक संभवत: बुधवार को टीम आएगी, जिसे अब तक की जांच के दस्तावेज सौंप दिए जाएंगे।

My sympathy with the aggrieved family. loss only occured to the parents no one else's. Lekin ladki ne bewkoofi ka kaam kiya.

Very sad. When people cannot get along in a marriage, they should just separate. There is no need to kill yourself. Amazing, women in India are still getting harassed for dowry.
After the incidents, it is the same thing: he said, she said, and in-laws cooking up things. No shame. The one who is gone will never come back. Education does little for character!

In present day scenerio, education provides you ability to earn good but not behave good. I feel ethics/behaviour are different from being educated. Merely having degrees and earning good is no criteria that they will behave and act good too. If this would be the case then system would have been very nice. We might have crores of degree holders but still the same behaviour when comes to public dealing, on roads etc.

In present day scenerio, education provides you ability to earn good but not behave good. I feel ethics/behaviour are different from being educated. Very sad for both the families & our community. I 100% agree with Jitender on education. obtaining degrees & knowing/learning some thing is not complete education. Change in behaviour is called education, what ever one learn from various sources & adops that learning into his/her thinking & action, than only such person can be called an educated.

I also think that dowry may not be the actual cause behind suicide/murder.

Someone said she was an air hostess so I believe that she knows world well and was a modern gal. Its very difficult to believe that such a modern gal who from Jat community can go for such a bold job can commit suicide easily. Same for dowry issue.

Sum total, dowry is not the real issue. The actual things are still being hidden.

The wife of a Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship crew member aboard the Monarch of the Seas is reported missing. It was initially thought that she fell off the cruise ship; however, it is now being reported that she jumped overboard in the Bahamas. 23 year old Neha Chhikara was reported missing at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Thursday; however, ship surveillance video later showed the passenger jumping overboard at 4:11 a.m.

Royal Caribbean spokeswoman Cynthia Martinez says the guest was reported missing by her husband. Security camera footage showed the 23-year-old woman going overboard from the 11th deck early that morning.
Martinez said Friday that Bahamian government officials reviewed the footage and determined that the woman jumped overboard.
The ship left Port Canaveral, Fla., on Monday for a five-day cruise through the Bahamas. It’s due to return Saturday.

UPDATE I: Royal Caribbean’s Monarch of the Seas Back in Port, Still no sign of Neha Chhikara

A C-130 aircraft was dispatched Friday afternoon to aid in the search for Neha Chhikara, said Petty Officer 3rd Class Nick Ameen of the Seventh Coast Guard District in Miami. The 23-year-old was reported missing from Royal Caribbean’s Monarch of the Seas at about 2 p.m. Thursday. A helicopter, a jet and a cutter were sent out to look for the woman.
“The search is continuing today, although so far we’ve had no leads,” Ameen said Saturday.

Well this is rather bizarre, the family claims dowry harassment led to incident on New Year’s Eve; couple worked on luxury liner going from Miami to Bahamas.

The family of former air hostess Neha Chhikara, who allegedly committed suicide on January 1, has submitted a written complaint to the Gurgaon police alleging that she had been physically and mentally tortured for dowry by her husband and in-laws. The police are yet to register an FIR. Neha’s father-in-law is the Gurgaon civil surgeon, S S Dalal.

‘She sent SOS before her death’

Neha, 23, daughter-in-law of Gurgaon Civil Surgeon Dr SS Dalal, got killed under suspicious circumstances on a luxury ship on way from Miami in the USA to Bahamas.
Nearly an hour before her death, Neha had reportedly sent an e-mail to her brother, Anuj Chhikara, a local advocate, complaining about torture by her husband.
In the e-mail, reportedly sent on the afternoon of December 31, 2009, Neha had written that her husband Ankit Dalal, a manager with the Royal Caribbean Cruise “Monarch of Seas”, often used to get impulsive and beat her up without any reason.

अंकित दलाल और नेहा छिकारा का मामला इस बात का एक और जीता-जागता सबूत है कि जो लोग भारत की त्याग-तपस्या वाली संस्कृति को त्यागकर विदेशी संस्कृति को अपनाते हैं, उनकी सोच कैसी जानवरों वाली हो जाती है. अप्रवासियों में अभी तक ऐसा सिर्फ सरदारों- पंजाबियों में ही होता था, लेकिन अब जाटों में भी ऐसी घटनाएं सुनने को मिलने लगी हैं कि दहेज़ के लालच में नवविवाहिताओं को आत्महत्या के लिए मजबूर कर दिया गया. मैं पूछता हूँ कि महीने में लाखों- करोड़ों रुपये कमाने के बाद भी इन वहशियों का पेट क्यों नहीं भरता और ये नेहा छिकारा जैसी मासूमों को प्रताड़ित करने से क्यों बाज नहीं आते? अंकित जैसे लोगों की घटिया और असंतुष्टि भरी सोच के कारण नेहा जैसी बेचारियों को आत्महत्या करनी पड़ती है. मैं तो नेहा के घरवालों को भी मूर्ख ही कहूँगा, जिन्होंने नेहा की शादी एक अप्रवासी भारतीय से की. जो लोग भारत को छोड़कर विदेश में बसते हैं उनमें से अधिक़तर की सोच ये होती है कि भारत एक बहुत ही पिछड़ा हुआ देश है और पश्चिमी देशों में लोगों को न कोई दुःख होता है और वे अमर होते हैं. वहां साइंस ने बहुत तरक्की कर ली है. वहां जाकर अप्रवासी लोग 10-10 गर्ल फ्रेंड रखते हैं और खूब ऐश करते हैं. फिर पैसे की भी उनमें खूब हवस होती है. नेहा जैसी मासूम लड़की जब वहां पहुँचती हैं तो अपने पति के रंग-ढंग को बर्दाश्त नहीं कर पातीं और जब दहेज़ की भी मांग होने लगती है तो उनके सामने आत्महत्या के अलावा और कोई रास्ता नहीं रह जाता. एक बात ध्यान रहे कि यदि नेहा कोई बदचलन लड़की होती तो हरगिज़ आत्महत्या न करती, बल्कि तलाक लेकर किसी दूसरे को पकड़ लेती. ऐसी घटनाओं को देखकर ये पढ़ाई-लिखाई, डॉक्टरी, इंजीनियरिंग, आई.टी. वगैरह सब बकवास बातें लगने लगती हैं. भारत में जब कोई दहेज़ हत्या होती है तो भारत के आलोचक यहाँ की संस्कृति में तरह-तरह की कमी निकालने लगते हैं. अब ऐसी घटनाओं के लिए उनके पास क्या जवाब है? अमेरिका में जाकर तो लोगों को वहाँ के 'महान' लोगों की तरह ही महान हो जाना चाहिए था, लेकिन वे तो वहाँ जाकर जानवर बन रहे हैं.

भगवान् जाने सच क्या है इस स्टोरी में.. क्या वजह थी नेहा की आतम-हत्या करने की (भगवान् उनकी आत्मा को शांति प्रदान करे) ..
बहुत सारे केसेज में आत्म-हत्या की वजह "Guilty feeling" भी होता है !! आपका ये कहना की "अगर बदचलन होती तो ..." तर्क-संगत नहीं है|
और विदेशी-कल्चर और विदेश जाने वालों को इसमें घसीटना "Totally-wrong"!!

Who is hiding what?
The father in law is a MD and says the woman was mentally unstable and blah blah.
The woman send email to her brother about domestic violence just hours before She jumped off the ship. Her father an advocate, says She was harassed for dowry.
One of them is lying and the question is who is that?
Could it be that She lost her mental balance due to constant demands for more dowry and then in despair committed suicide?

Since now we have been encountering these monsterous dowry deaths in lower ignorant strata of population. Present case is from prominent families with great education and reputed professions ,where base of their rise is education. Why US is being mentioned - because over the decades it has established itself as a prime work culture and land of classy education. You seem to cough up even humourous joke with Anti-West psyche. Remember your own culture is not superior because some other culture is inferior and vice-versa. I have no intention to play a therapist or baby sitter. Dowry .... it is a tool that is used now-a-days by the parents of bride for harrasment of the in-law family. Here also I am not sure if dowry is the true reason behind it. Also whether suicide of murder?

In present day scenerio, education provides you ability to earn good but not behave good. I feel ethics/behaviour are different from being educated. Merely having degrees and earning good is no criteria that they will behave and act good too. If this would be the case then system would have been very nice. We might have crores of degree holders but still the same behaviour when comes to public dealing, on roads etc.

Totally agree with you Jitender.Now a days education producing Machines not human being. After getting a degree with 99% give you good placement in MNC but not the understanding of other poeples, other fellow, it bring false attitude in the person.

We jammaney gaye samar Aaj ki date me when an women equally to men then how can her husband ask her for dowry Wa e nahi maang apney aadmi te.

Now a days even in villages people dont want to marry their girls to those who demands dowry.

Abhi kuch din pehle Vasant kunj me ek aadmi ney apney 2 bachhe er wife ko maar kar khud sucide karli reason Financial losses though he was owner of a under construction house in vasant kunj & his childrens were studiyng in Ptv school in Rajasthan.

In this case no one would hav sympathy with that person, but in Neha case you r sympathising her because she was a girl(poor girl, bichari ladki etc. etc.) upar sey dowry matter.

Agreed with jitender ji......Now a days, dowry is a just a tool used by bride side.......Our media also present these cases like groom side is wrong....Ego of young generation is very high. they are not ready to compromise. i feel these are responsible for these cases.
Nowhere education can be related to behaviour. With education many people become more and more arrogant. That's why divorce and suicide cases are found more specially in metro cities.
