A great man, great patriot. Whole of his life was dedicated to India. He struggled so that the coming generations of India may live with pride. I feel indebted to him and while remembering the martyrdom of such brave sons of India my eyes fill with tears. I pay my homage for him on his 112th birth anniversary (23 January).

Greatest Indian personality of Pre-Independence Era(1901-1945)... He was visionary, great leader and smart politician. People criticise him because of his Pro-Nazi approach. I believe that was the need of hour.

I wish centre govt. do little more to bring all information related to Subash ji in public. I never found any information about his policies related to Nazism and Fascism.

I echo the same sentiment at Yudvir Mor and Lt. Col Malik.
Central Govt will neve do anything to issue a white paper on Bose for various reasons, who knows how many skeletons of Nehru Khaandan will come out tumbling.

    A Tribute to Netaji

    Dear Col Malik,
Thanks for the post. Actually, I host a Radio Show every Saturday on the EBC Radio in NJ, USA from 2 to 3 PM New York Time. On my last show, on 23 Jan I made it Netaji Special. It was heartening to get the response from the public. The best were the following comments:

    1. A lady from Bengal: "All the RJ's on EBC will spend a lot of time on Air if it is Birthday of any Bollywood Celebrity, you are the only one who talks about national heros; I always leave my work to listen to your program"

    2. A man from Brooklyn NY: You are infusing life in dead bodies in your programs; I always look forward to listening to your program.

    3. Another women: All the programs presented by the EBC are like a Cake; your's the "Cherry" on the cake. I always listen to the program.

Actually; I also realized that most of our people spend too much time on Bollywood Celebrities/Cricketers but no or very little about Freedom Fighters.

I don't know how much coverage Netaji got on Indian Media as against a century scored by Sachin Tendulkar or a Sixer hit by Yuvraaj Singh; or a movie released or a statement made by Amitabh or Shahrukh.

I think; we need to do something about it. Thanks a lot for raising the issue.

Those of you; who want to listen to my program; can do so on internet at www.ebcmusic.com

Col Malik once again thanks a lot for the post.

I do admire your effort and please accept my heartiest gratitude for your work. Mr Bose was a nationalist who really didn't care how the history will judge him. Today history has judged him, he is the most admired, revered freedom fighter of Indian History. He did not make any deals, negotiate with British unlike the so called "Bapu" and "Chacha" of this nation. The latter were living a high life on British Dime that was minted by the blood of millions of Indians.

Again Please accept my heartiest gratitude for your show. Only a nationalist pays a tribute to another nationalist as they share a bond that was made famous by Henry V called 'Band of Brothers'. For those men who have served in uniform to save our beloved nation from certain annihilation and humiliation multiple times they share a Bond of Brotherhood with their eternal Brother Called Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.
I thank all men who served 'Bharat'.

    Dear Sir,

I was switching through TV channels on 23rd Jan evening after office hours to see if I could find any program related to Netaji. But to my disappointment there was none. Even there was no statement from any National Leader in respect of Netaji.

Finally one news channel flashed a news "Humne Netaji ko bhula diya" which was talking the same thing that nobody cares here about the birthday of our Greatest National Hero.

Thankfully on 26th JAN "Bose: The forgotten Hero" (the only bollywood movie on Netaji) was broadcasted by one TV channel to the relief of many people expecting atleast something.

I am gald to hear that you kept him alive in the heart of many Indians aborad. Thank you very much for the effort.

    Anil

    Dear Mr. Rathee,

You can listen to the EBC radio on internet at www.ebcmusic.com

In my program yesterday; I talked about the teachings of Gandhi Ji; as a tribute to "Father of the Nation". Many people in the studio; replied to me with surprise since they did not realize that it was the death anniversary of Gandhi Ji.

Well; the priorities of the people have changed. Those are the heros of yester years; even though they will never be forgotton by the people who believe in and who appreciate the sacrifices made by them. Today; I see a lot of coverage to the vacation by a film actor; or any statement made by a cricketer. Unfortunate but true. Can we change it? Certainly we can; The least I can do is to keep remiding public about these heroes; their contribution in our lives; and my self follow the path shown by them.

In Mahatma Gandhi's words: "WE MUST BECOME THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE".

Let us keep doing what we can. We can only control our own activities.

    Thumbs up

‎"It is our duty to pay for our liberty with our own blood. The freedom that we shall win through our sacrifice and exertions, we shall be able to preserve with our own strength!"
    -Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

Give Me Blood! I Promise You Freedom!!
At a rally of Indians in Burma, July 4, 1944

This was the statement he made at the great rally where he was elected with acclaim as the leader of the freedom movement in East Asia. The speech infused new life to a movement which had been weakened by internal dissentions.

Friends! Twelve months ago a new programme of 'total mobilisation' or 'maximum sacrifice' was placed before Indians in East Asia. Today I shall give you an account of our achievements during the past year and shall place before you our demands for the coming year. But, before I do so, I want you to realise once again what a golden opportunity we have for winning freedom. The British are engaged in a worldwide struggle and in the course of this struggle they have suffered defeat after defeat on so many fronts. The enemy having been thus considerably weakened, our fight for liberty has become very much easier than it was five years ago. Such a rare and God-given opportunity comes once in a century. That is why we have sworn to fully utilise this opportunity for liberating our motherland from the British yoke.

I am so very hopeful and optimistic about the outcome of our struggle, because I do not rely merely on the efforts of three million Indians in East Asia. There is a gigantic movement going on inside India and millions of our countrymen are prepared for maximum suffering and sacrifice in order to achieve liberty.
Unfortunately, ever since the great fight of 1857, our countrymen are disarmed, whereas the enemy is armed to the teeth. Without arms and without a modern army, it is impossible for a disarmed people to win freedom in this modern age. Through the grace of Providence and through the help of generous Nippon, it has become possible for Indians in East Asia to get arms to build up a modern army. Moreover, Indians in East Asia are united to a man in the endeavour to win freedom and all the religious and other differences that the British tried to engineer inside India, simply do not exist in East Asia. Consequently, we have now an ideal combination of circumstances favouring the success of our struggle- and all that is wanted is that Indians should themselves come forward to pay the price of liberty. According to the programme of 'total mobilisation', I demanded of you men, money and materials. Regarding men, I am glad to tell you that I have obtained sufficient recruits already. Recruits have come to us from every corner of east Asia- from China, Japan, Indo-China, Philippines, Java, Borneo, Celebes, Sumatra, Malaya, Thailand and Burma

You must continue the mobilisation of men, money and materials with greater vigour and energy, in particular, the problem of supplies and transport has to be solved satisfactorily.

We require more men and women of all categories for administration and reconstruction in liberated areas. We must be prepared for a situation in which the enemy will ruthlessly apply the scorched earth policy, before withdrawing from a particular area and will also force the civilian population to evacuate as was attempted in Burma.

The most important of all is the problem of sending reinforcements in men and in supplies to the fighting fronts. If we do not do so, we cannot hope to maintain our success at the fronts. Nor can we hope to penetrate deeper into India.

Those of you who will continue to work on the Home Front should never forget that East Asia- and particularly Burma- from our base for the war of liberation. If this base is not strong, our fighting forces can never be victorious. Remember that this is a 'total war'- and not merely a war between two armies. That is why for a full one year I have been laying so much stress on 'total mobilisation' in the East.

There is another reason why I want you to look after the Home Front properly. During the coming months I and my colleagues on the War Committee of the Cabinet desire to devote our whole attention to the fighting front- and also to the task of working up the revolution inside India. Consequently, we want to be fully assured that the work at the base will go on smoothly and uninterruptedly even in our absence.

Friends, one year ago, when I made certain demands of you, I told you that if you give me 'total mobilization', I would give you a 'second front'. I have redeemed that pledge. The first phase of our campaign is over. Our victorious troops, fighting side by side with Nipponese troops, have pushed back the enemy and are now fighting bravely on the sacred soil of our dear motherland.

Gird up your loins for the task that now lies ahead. I had asked you for men, money and materials. I have got them in generous measure. Now I demand more of you. Men, money and materials cannot by themselves bring victory or freedom. We must have the motive-power that will inspire us to brave deeds and heroic exploits.

It will be a fatal mistake for you to wish to live and see India free simply because victory is now within reach. No one here should have the desire to live to enjoy freedom. A long fight is still in front of us.

We should have but one desire today- the desire to die so that India may live- the desire to face a martyr's death, so that the path to freedom may be paved with the martyr's blood.

Friend's! my comrades in the War of Liberation! Today I demand of you one thing, above all. I demand of you blood. It is blood alone that can avenge the blood that the enemy has spilt. It is blood alone that can pay the price of freedom. Give me blood and I promise you freedom.

I pay tribute to one of the greatest Leader, Visionary, Patriot and real son of Mother India on his B'day Anniversary! Salute!

Netaji Subhash Chander Bose was a great visionary, freedom fighter and his sense of sacrifice is unparalleled in the history of India. He gave us several good things but his supreme gift to us is the slogan of JAI HIND.

It is worth mention here that though he was made to resign from the Post of the President of the Indian National Congress, yet he never harboured any ill-will towards his partymen. It must also be remembered that it was Netaji who first of all addressed Mahatma Gandhi as "the Father of Nation." Such great gems among men are a rare breed in these days of petty politics.

We Salute him on his Birth Anniversary.
