    NRI vs Resident Indians !!!

    जाटों की सबसे बड़ी विडम्बना रही है अपनी ही गाल में खूंड बजान की… or at least I think so ! period !

    This topic has been
कुलबुलाइंग (intriguing) my mind for quite some time, as often times then not, i see a very biased opinion(s) by many fellow resident indian JATlanders. may be it’s a kind of frustration that they couldn’t managed to make it overseas or too much attachment with their families… I don’t know… honestly, i really don’t know (pls. dont shoot me for that). as a result, they never miss a chance to crack their volley of missiles every time a related issue pops-up. be it the ‘interrogation of shahrukh khan’ or any NRI behaviour justifying racism or whatever…

do these NRI’s committed a sin, when they left home ?

(forget about the contribution they have made towards the growth of india, when they got good opportunity to show their skills/expertise from abroad).

would like to invite fellow members to share there views (… or frustration) on the subject. i would also like to know the contribution of NRI’s to Indian economy. at the same time, i would also like to know of instances where NRI's have brought disgrace to indian community by their misdeeds.

... and >>> would like to invite, especially mr dhull (>>> and similar mindsets) whose derogatory remarks on NRI's - "dhobi ke kutte, na ghar ke na ghaat ke" on the thread ‘what do you like about india’ post # 88 (link >>> http://www.jatland.com/forums/showthread.php?29200-What-do-you-like-about-India&p=239024&viewfull=1#post239024) to write his/their opinion here (at least 10 pages, if not 100).

    Brahm Ji,

In movie Guru, the character of Guru Bhai responds to the criticism in a calm, composed, booked demeanour ,'' Jab log tumhare baare mein baat karne lage, tumhe neecha dikhane lage to samjho ki aage badh rahe ho.''

Morover, it gives powers to those inferior thoughts as you react according to their words. Standing BOLD must have meant to live in what you believe without reacting heavily. Mahatma Budh got Niravna in Bodh Gaya whle he belonged to Nepal.

Out of home, even in same district, state or country everyone is an NRI.

bhai sab wohi kerte hain jo unhe theek lagta hai, kissi ko videsh me reh ker acchi life bitta ker india me uske kisse sunana pasand hai, kuch log bahar jaane wolo ko sirf issliye koste hain ki unhe mokka nahi milla wahan jaane kaa, yaa kuch mere jaise hain jo yahan ker rahe hain usme bahut khus hain or 2-3 mahino ke liye bahar jaa ker gumna accha lagta hai per wahan hamesha ke liye rahane ki nahi soch sakte.kuch log iss (meri ) soch ko kue ke mendak walli soch kehte hain.

samar ki baat "Out of home, even in same district, state or country everyone is an NRI." bilkul sahi hai meri job UP me hai or rahne wala haryana kaa hu muje yahan bhi NRI walle jazbaat aate hain , per har friday 3hr me ghar pahunch jaata hu wo bhi kam karche pe thanks to CNG to sab badiya lagta hai.
iske aalwa mere dimag me to khabi kuch aaya nahi ki mere kya yogdaan hai desh ke liye yaa main kis desh ke liye kama raha hu .

samar, appreciate your 100 (not 10) cents. gandhiji was/is/can be ideal for many, not me. "to err is always me (brahm(it) to forgive is bla bla bla". m a small creature in this materialistic world nd have boundaries, i can n'vr transcend or even dare. 'nirvana' for sure is/was not the motive that kicked me out of india. if i want to attain 'nirvana'... i've my own motherland waiting for me, with his ever-forgiving arms outstretched.

please show with links, i wud like to meet that NRI supremo, who is so powerful to orient the direction of your pink cells, with such an ease.

    1. sharafat: you'll find more NRI boyz nd galz shareef nd decent than their indian counterparts... not all, but still in terms of %age they are very high. aur jo shareef nahin hein they dont wet their pent by mere thots or play pocket billiards.

leaving the country for the sake of money was the last thing on my mind.
    3. panji = nickel = Rs. 2.25
    4. dassi = dime = Rs. 4.50

here we dont thro panji nd dassi in river mississipi or in river st. lawrence or in murray-darling... you know why ? cos the number of morons here are quite less comparatively.

Tewatia Ji, I can't put all links here as I don't have any complaint for those words. If any body tries to tease me saying that 'you are one-eyed or one-eared' then I can just laugh upon him because I am not. But if I am, then if someone says me then I have very good eyes or ears then I will fall upon him. But I will not disappoint you. I am putting such a link here. (Post no. 41 and 42 are concerned):

    Brahm,

While being away from home, I appreciate your sentiment, but not the logic. Of course, there is no sin in living where you want, and pursuing whatever you want to do. And of course, it is ridiculous when NRIs are abused on the ground that they left India. But these are obvious points, clear to anyone able to think logically. A human being should be free to choose his destiny. This basic human right is sufficient to justify any action vis-a-vis leaving the country, whether for opportunities, money, comfort, whatever. However, what is ridiculous is the logic of "Oh, you didn't get the Visa, that's why you are frustrated". And I am not pointing you out here- to your credit, you say that you are confused about it. But I think atleast 80% of NRIs on this forum are cocksure about it (random ball park guess, don't shoot me for it). To me, it just sounds like crass superiority complex. Without any reason for feeling superior. There are lots of resident Indians, who choose to live in India by choice. They can get a visa before many others who go to any limit to get a foreign visa (from smuggling in through boats claiming to be refugees to paying through their noses for a foreign degree that can be had for 100 times lesser in India). And I am sorry, but I'd be very harsh here- a foreign visa is not a trophy that you can flaunt and beat resident Indians with. If someone thinks ki foreign visa paake koi qila fateh karr liya, then I could only pity that person that he has nothing else to show. If someone is getting anal about you leaving India, just tell him it is your fking life and you are free to do what you want. But to tell him that he is a wretched soul as he couldn't manage to get a visa despite several attempts (Unless one is a chowkidar for a foreign embassy, not sure how this judgment can be made for any individual) is outright foolish. Two wrongs don't make a right. Never.

    Regards
    Kapil

Poonam, dekhiye ude wapas jaan ki date to mannya bata diye,...na yo saare airport pae "NRI! NRI! Maaro , Maaro..." kehte mile pauwange! :p ...

Geez, what is this,... Indian bashing season (not one but on two threads now)???... (well yeah 'Indian' bashing, cause technically NRI still has 'Indian' in it, doesn't it! :rolleyes....
Then we have folks that are now sadly going out of their way to make peace with local taliban/Sena type elements by calling their unfair wrong(s), with some totally misplaced indignant right...(or was it more like blindside the wrong with a 'chicken-out' slide?)...just about sounds right too, and nothing has changed there sadly; rather than using some backbone and calling a wrong a wrong, one can bury the (just one) sane counter-argument into a miniscule sentence somewhere (and with the 'f' word too! Smooth...).... and then proceed to dedicate the rest 20-lines or so post on some hair-brained thesis/tirade on "visas"! (dude, to think that one actually got suckered into believing that's what the 80% NRI's really care about? :p reaaally Sad...).....dash it...but then even I'm confused now if we NRI's don't get this generalized bad name of being regular flip-flops for a good reason!....wish for once people would not be scared to call a bad apple a bad apple in the middle of a fray!
...next time at least write one whole post to take a stand and defend (even if misplaced) wrong on yourself, dude...and I shall gladly eat all my 'wrong' words!)...

In conclusion: tell you what folks; Slapping one 'nice-walla' wrong against such 'below-the-belt' wrongs.....may not make anything right.....But doggone it, man........it just about ...............feels Awesomely SATISFYING!!! Period.

Period.
Stop getting so judgmental dude! Ideally, I won't have responded to this inane logic you have given above, but here you go...

How you came to the conclusion that I was making peace with someone else (I like to be easy with my judgments, so no off-the-cuff labelling people as Sena/Taliban), despite my clear and unequivocal stand on the issue is beyond me, but then I am used to it now. If you want me to jump into supporting a bad argument or refrain from commenting on it because it is being made against what you perceive as a worse argument, then I am not your guy.

For me, number of lines has nothing to do with the point I am making. If I get a question paper, and there is a question I can answer in 2 lines (to my satisfaction, not yours), I won't write a third line on it. Doesn't mean the question carries any less weightage. Then, this is not like casting a vote. Ki mere dost ne yeh keh diya to mujhe ab uska support karna hai. Ya kayi log ek baat keh rahe hain, to mujhe bhi uspe apna thappa lagana hai. Sorry, don't have the time or the inclination for that. I'd write something if I feel strongly about it or if I don't see anyone else making that point. I have seen enough people making this visa comment here on this forum in all sorts of discussions and no one really countering it. Hence, my point. But if it was part of some secret NRI strategy to bamboozle some native Indians ("Let's say this, though we don't really care about it"), then you got me!!

And if you must know, then I care for Brahm's point of view a bit more than any random, feisty guy displaying his narrow bandwidth. I have better things to do than indulge in a personal tete-a-tete with everyone, just to make a proud show of my backbone. There are enough people here who consider every argument as a battle that has to be won and the argument maker as an enemy that has to be vanquished. There are only a few, who have the ability to appreciate a counter-point at its "fair-value", without attaching agendas to it. Those are the people I'd prefer to debate with.

PS: I was going to tackle the "Contribution of NRI" bit as well, just doing some research on it. Maybe that will cheer you up.

Never.

    Regards
    Kapil
