As you all know various newspaper and news channel are having their own poll on 'same gotra marriage'. Also our site is read and quoted in the newspaper. So not to confuse 'others' who don't necessarily understand what we are talking about let us have a clear poll on this issue. This way people won't get chance to misunderstand or misquote our discussions. Also this will help them understand our view point on this particular issue.

This thread is to share our view on whether there is a need to Amend the Hindu Marriage Act
People who oppose this say whats the need of Amendment when we are already following this. Supports says the Amedment is necessary to discourage such marriages. They say when we have other immoral and incest realtions clearly prohibited in HMA why not this same gotra marriage. They say the definition of "prohibited realtions" under HMA need to be changed or in other words law should recognise this "custom" of JATS.
This Amendment wouldnt/shouldnt affect other Hindus. It will only affect JATS and other north indians communiteis who follow this custom( and that too if they want to be part of this law).
Please vote and discuss below why would you support or oppose this amendment.
PLease note : "Same Gotra here (as called in panchayat as well) is refered as Doodh aur Khoon Ka rista Mean same Gotra from father or mother side
P.S: for this poll sake the Amendment is only refered to in relation to "same gotra marraige". Though many JATS oppose Same village marriage as well.

This is not for us. This is for other friken 'Journalist' and reporters to understand. One of them said on NDTV " Progressive, young jats are "OK" to marry in the same Gotras

Lol Yes. But this is not a post for discussion. There cant be any discussion about it( in my opinion) and these media houses need to STOP discussing this on TV/Paper. i doubt if they rely on our polls.... they have already setup their mind for what they want to show people of world about us.... still ur motive is nice...

If people outside community have a problem in us following our customs… and if they criticize any effort of ours to patronize the our Jat traditions… lets get it legalized . Be it Media or anyone who is non-jat (including some so called ultra modern jats who have deteriorated their minds in effect of these refugees) , should know that Jats hold it right at the top and cannot be culturally contaminated .
