    Expedition Ladakh : An Adventure Trip On Royal Enfield with a Social Cause

    Dear Jatlanders,

    A group of adventure travellers will start its journey from Chandigarh onwards 21st June to Ladakh. Whole expedition will be shoot in to a documentary film and will be sent to various national and international mountain-travelling documentary film festivals and channels. Whole trip will be organic in nature. Some part of amount generated through Documentary film sponsership will be provided to www.adaa.in for children welfare which is being run by our own Jatlander Navin Gulia.

    Anybody interested to meet during the trip or to be a part of the trip is heartly welcome.

    Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

    Minimum time you need to ve is 10 days and maximum 15 days.

    Up route will be Chandigarh-Manali-Rohtang-Leh. You need to ve your bike fully serviced with winter cloths. You can join us at Chandigarh on 21st,22nd or 23rd.

    What can I say abt the beauty of Ladakh. Everybody know that very well.

    Khaan peen naahan dhowan (jo tadke tadak jarurat padegi) ka soudda- tel saabun...kapde dhowan ka jugaad.... (kaalis er mail kardey daanda aali brush tein ragde te e utrega) ......daadhi banawan ka saaman (nahi to fotu suthri nahi aawengi).... dawaai-goli (bhagwaan naa kare ki unki jarurat pade...).... er haan most importantly "Puncher lagawan ka saamaan"......     My plan and interest is to visit Army controlled areas with the help of permit from friends in Army. Civilians territory is obvious. I will take care of tips for sure.

    Some of my ex-colleagues had taken this journey on bike. They had prepared a detailed itinerary of things to take along. Posting the same here.

    I. Equipment:

    First Aid Box (scroll below for contents)*

    Foot pump or 12v DC Mini-Compressor*
    Aloksak Waterproof Zip Lock bags – 2 sets
    Cell phone with charger
    Camera kit (with lenses & flash if SLR) with spare batteries & charger*

    LED Flashlight/Headlamp – 2 with spare batteries*
    Swiss Army Knife
    Cigarette Lighter/Match boxes (windproof) – 2*
    Jerry Cans for Fuel – 2 x 10Lts bike as well to start fire if stuck in wild
    Insulated travel flask
    Cellphones charged fully
    Watch with correct time (all to match time at the start)
    Playing card

    - Needle and thread, matches/lighter, Mseal, feviquik, small pair of scissors, swiss knife
    - Take 5-6 passport size photos

    - Pocket diary and pen/pencil to record expenses, important milestones, odo readings

    a thick cotton string to make a stove/diya with petrol in case of emergency
