    Cutting Down on Cooking Oil.

One way to do that is to roast jeera (cumin) on a dry tawa before adding to dal/sabzi, instead of frying the jeera in oil.

    Regards,

    Urmila.

no stick cookware is really bad for health even worse than oil.steel is the best.even aluminium is better than non stick.some tests hare done with nonstick cookware.at higher temperature they emitted toxins and birds died.

cutting oil while cooking is really healthy.young people are having heartattacks these days.main reason is clogged arties.arties are clogged by the plaque which is formed as a result of high cholestrol.eat oil sensibly.one ot two spoons used here and there wont harm.

    Ritu ji,
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, less dietary fat is consumed per American today than in 1960s. But during this period of time, the percentage of Americans who had obesity and diabetes went up, and the prevalence of coronary disease and heart attacks stayed more or less the same. Why did it happen if oil/fat is the culprit, any explanation, please?

Famous food writer Michael Pollan’s has rightly said; “The best teacher of what is healthy to eat is not the food companies (their motivation is profit), the government (often confused and pulled in different directions by industry), or nutrition scientists (some of them later admit their research techniques are flawed). The best teacher of what is good to eat is our own historical culture” !
