Government is hopeless. One should not rely on government standards. The food standards don't get updated frequently. By the time they get updated, it may be too late for one to take action. Also there is no pesticide control in India. Everything is getting toxic. Its better to find the information on your own and devise alternates appropriately!

Increase in cardiac problems should be attributed to sedentary life style more than fat consumption. Moderation is required in consupmtion of not only fat but also carbs and proteins.

Fats are essential part of our diet. Our diet should be in the ratio of 40-40-20 (Protein-Carbs-Fats). We should consume loads of nuts for good fats. Walnuts and almonds are best source of essential fats and other vitamins and minerals. Walnuts also has omega-3 fatty acids which is very important for well being of our heart and joints. Our body does not produce omega, so we have to intake it externally. For cooking , olive oil is best with good fats.

only if the cooking temperature is low or else for cold food items such as salads and dressings. indian cooking involves high temperatures for which oils with high disintegration temperatures are preferred.

yes vipin olive oil is good .but recent researches have shown canola oil is better for frying and cooking.nothing can beat desi ghee when used in moderation.desi ghee does not kill people.its the unhealthy mix of fats plus refined sugar which is causing all diseases.
