Who should get first Bharat Ratna in Sports???

With indication that rules will be ammended to give Sachin Tendulkar highest civillian award of India. Now contribution to sports will be included in the criteria to qualify. This is a good news for Indian Sports. But after this news came out MP CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan has demanded for first Bharat Ratna Award to a sports man for Major Dhyanchand. What is your take???

Both have been exceptionally good players in their respective fields. The government can easily afford to decorate both these great personalities, it is not a big issue. Alternatively, the award can be shared by Sachin and the next of kin of late Major Dhyanchand.

पहला भारत रत्न तो स्वर्गीय मेजर ध्यानचंद को ही देना चाहिए, इससे इस अवार्ड की गरिमा और बढ़ेगी... सचिन में सारी खूबियाँ हैं पर जब कोई टीम राष्ट्र के सम्मान के लिए न खेले और सिर्फ पैसों के लिए ही खेलती हो तो कुछ अच्छा सा नहीं लगता, जैसा की एसिअयाई खेलों के दौरान हुआ ... भले ही इसमें सचिन सीधे तौर पर जिम्मेदार न हों पर उनकी तरफ से कोई टिपण्णी भी नहीं आई थी.

Major Dhyanchand deserves first then it should be Sachin though I m not a Cricket fan.

Both are equally eligible for Bharat ratna, better would be as said by VPsingh ji that both share the same.

Holland में मेजर साहब की एक प्रतिमा है, जिसमे उन्हें चार हाथो और सभी हाथो में Hockey stick के साथ दर्शाया है, अब और क्या कहू! [विदेशी पैदायशी खुन्नस के कारण बोहोत नाक मुह सकोटने के बाद ही किसी हिन्दुस्तानी का लोहा मानते है, और उस ज़माने मे तोह बात ही कुछ और थी!]
