To what extent the old Ghoonghat system imposed on ladies of Jat society can be justified? Is it necessarily required in today's time of exposure and demonstration.

dagar ji pahle hi ek thread mein karwa choth ko hatwane ki baat ka discussion hua hai,holi diwali ko bhi log delete karna chahte the,ab aap bolo rahe ho ki ghoonghat ko bhi hata do..sir ji aap ke tarike se society unsocial ban jaayegi...ghar mein har memeber k rahne ka ek tarika hota hai,jis se ek ajnabi ko pata lagta hai ki ye kaun hai...abhi ghhonghat hat jjayega,phir log bolenge k bahu us kamre mein kyon nahi ja sakti jismein sasoor or dadsara rahte hain...these things will only lead to randomness and chaos in community nd ultimately dessolution of our identity...

its ok dat u respect elder n head must be covered in front of in laws.
wen it came to parents home,a gal is free to wear what she want.

samar ji agar aap pahnawe ki bat kar rahe hai to wo to time or place ke hisab se hot hai..if any body want ki gaon mein ladke suit pahan ke ghhomein,thats not possible..bt yes if they r wearing kurta payjama nd going to colleges or anywhere outside then its ugly...bt i hv seen our village boyz when they hv to be gentleman..wearing nice suits...i hv seen village boyz spending 3-4thousand rupees on nike,reebok,adidas shoes,levi jeans
if i will talk of haryanavi new generation 90% of them never wear cheap clothes nd same apply to grls..
nd if u think of maintaining personality wd clothings then that comes out of ur attitude,ur knowledge,ur skills nd ur presence...not wd ur clothes....swami vivekananda used to wear bhagwa when he addressed crowed in chicago...mahatma ghandi used to be in khadi...

ravinder ji ..i joined this site in aprl 2011 bt m active from last 1 week only coz of my bzy schedule.....bt i want to express one thing that wt i noticed here that ppl are posting their individual opinion as thread..nd that are total irrelevant...that creats frustation nd is waste of time to read....becoz of that i feel that many of d members r trying to avoid this site....
when sm seriuos discussion is going on ppl start individual fight....one suggestion i want to gv that before starting any thread please jst see that same or related thread has already been started...i also started one thread then apne samar kadian bhai reminded me that its already started.....
one more thing that d moderator if can do smthing about the limit of threads or acceptance or rejectio criterion of a thread will b better...or they can create like if some portion of members are voting against d thread then it will be rejected automatically...

As per my experiences i have seen many girls in my own village,they have cleared the PCS/PSU exams & they are placed at very good positions lekin jab bhi vo gaon mai aati hai ,humseha kam sai kaam sar par palu jarur rakthi hai............
I remember aaj sai 1 saal pehle ,Meeut ki SP ak lady thi ,she was a jaat belonging to Baghpat & the jaat DM(Bhuvnesh kumar).There was the agitation movement going on for land-acquistion by the farmers of nearby villagers of baghpat-road & outer villages of meerut.
Bhen mayawati ji kisano ko bhot jute lalach diye magar kissan piche nahi haat rahe thai ,sarkar nai pura daam lagahr rakha tha ,maghar yeh to dunia janti hai ki jab jaat apni pai aate hai to kisi ki nahi sunthe.
Fir last mai CM sahiba nai lady SP nai & DM sahab vo vaha bheja, unone gaon kai bade -budo kai peer chuhe aur lady SP bakayda saree pehan kar gaon gayi thi aur sir par chuni rakhar .uske baad SP sahiba nai gaon aki bado sai request ki aur unka ashirwad liya uske baad yeh movement khatam hui thi...................
To mere bhaio agar vo jaat lady IPS ,bado ka respect na karthi ,to tume lagtha hai ki vo movement finish ho jati ??????????

If the Indian mythology is to be accepted as authentic account of our ancient traditions, the veil (ghoonghat) finds no place. All the female characters in our ancient books/epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata have been portrayed in haute couture attires made of chiffon or velvet viz. saari and sleeve less blouse with the lingerie inside clearly visible. Not to speak of veil. I think veil was introduced to save the beautiful girls and ladies from the evil eyes during Mughal empires. It could be a matter of choice, and should no longer be imposed as a custom. It is reminiscent of an age when the tyrant Muslim Rulers used to forcibly take the beautiful women as their brides. The situation has now changed. Under another thread, I have already mentioned merits and demerits of veil.
