But, over the years I have observed and read that Lohari celebrations take place one day prior to Haryanavi Sankrat or Makar Sakaranti.
To the best of my knowledge Makar Sakaranti with different names is celebrated in various parts of the country on 14th January every year whereas Lohari celebrated in the area previously comprising Punjab Subah (West Punjab, east Punjab, parts of Haryana and Himachal) falls on 13th January. Why it is so?
This has led me to consider these two festivals as having their separate identities.
Would somebody resolve this knot.

Kindly also through some light on 'SUNDARI MUNDARI OYE, TERA KAUN VICHARA OYE...' tradition connected with the origin of the Lohari Celebrations and its connection with Haryanavi Sankarat celebrations.
