De-Sanskritization:- Requirement to discourage other castes to adopt our surnames

Dr. Bhimram Ambedkar gave the formula of sanskritization to the Harijan community. The sanskritization means adopting the surnames of the powerful upper caste community of the area. Ambedkar urged the Harijans to change their living place and settle to other places by adopting the surnames of the powerful upper castes to get respect in society. However, today the scenario has changed completely. There is hardly any such rigid caste based discrimination in the society. We often find the Harijans adopting our surnames. This only results into misconceptions about our community. The wrong deeds of the people belonging to other castes result into degrading the image of our community. I have many times seen the people of other caste conceal their real surnames and are involved in criminal and other heinous activities, thus malign the image of our community. If the harijans want to hide their identities, they may simply do not use any surname. Why and how they could be allowed to use our surnames to malign our identity? When it comes to take the benefit of their caste, they leave no stone unturned to make caste certificates.

You need not very about the mobilisation phenomenon in Hindu caste system which is a natural outcome of social, economic and political stratification. Please beware and avoid casteism not caste.

    Dr. Rajpal Ji,
I do not agree with this mobilisation phenomenon. Of course, we need not have rigid caste concerns in the mind. However, we could not isolate ourselves from our identities. The meaning of casteism is taken as discrimination with other castes. We should not be discriminative to other castes, but respect our identities. The adopting of our surnames by the Harijans shall create many problems in the society. There are many instances where the wrongdoing committed by these people, their habit and culture result into degrading the image of our community. How can we allow these people to degrade our community. Further, there are instances where youngster mislead by the surnames enter into unacceptable relationship causing trouble. We, of course should respect other castes, we can not allow them to intrude into our family
