The retirement of a "Gentleman"

The real gentleman of the Gentleman's Game announced his retirement from First Class cricket. The sceond heighest run getter in the Test Cricket history hanged his shoes saying it was the right time to 'move on' and make way for the next generation of players.

13,288 test runs, 36 test centuries with a remarkable average of 52.31 in 164 Test Matches describes his wonderful career since last 16 years.

Morever, Dravid is known for his sportsmanship, a great team player and above all a Gentleman.

I want to say thanks to him for the happiness and pride he provided us during all his career.

We will miss you, Rahul.

One of the talented,sensible player India has ever produced! Cool, calm and consistent(Great wall). A true gentleman who never lost his temper in this gentleman's game. Tendulkar is right in saying that "There was only and is only one Rahul Dravid".

Great man, Superb team man, Real gentleman, Ture ambassador of the game...Words are less to explain him. He is a perfect role model for every youngster of the country. The level of commitment with pride, dignity and values he has, is simply awesome. It had been extremely pleasing to watch him both on and off the field. We may find another Sachin but I am sure, we will not get the another Rahul in Indian cricket team.

Thanks, Rahul for entraining us over the years. Kudos to The Wall!! We will miss you Champion.

The most dependable player India got in 90's. The pillar of innings for India in test matches. We used to ask just one question during test matches "kon hai wicket par?" and if the answer was "Dravid", instantly it used to come out "fir koi chinta ki baat nahi hai..!!". Thats the confidence we had in him. Non-comparable composure and a true legend of the game! Yes, there will be no second Dravid again in Indian cricket.
